July 19th, 2024

MIAMI – The Miami Marlins will host the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2025 regular season opener at loanDepot park on Thursday, March 27, as the complete 2025 schedule was announced today by Major League Baseball.

The opening homestand also includes three additional games against Pittsburgh from March 28-30 and three games against the New York Mets from March 31-April 2.

This will mark the second straight season that the Marlins open the campaign against the Pirates and the fourth occasion the club will play at loanDepot park on Opening Day in the last five years. It will also be the third time the Marlins have played the Pirates on Opening Day, as the club dropped a 6-5 decision in 12 innings to begin 2024, as well as a 4-0 affair on April 1, 1996, in Miami’s fourth-ever season opening game. Miami is facing a National League Central opponent on Opening Day for the third time in the last eight season openers.

After the seven-game homestand to open the season, the Marlins begin their road schedule with three games at Atlanta from April 4-6, followed by a stop in New York to face the Mets from April 7-9. The club returns to Miami for a seven-game homestand with Washington and Arizona, from April 11-17, as Miami plays 22 of its first 37 games at home through May 7.

With the introduction of a balanced schedule by Major League Baseball starting in 2023, the Marlins will face every team in the senior circuit at least once next season. Miami will host the Athletics (May 2-4), Rays (May 16-18), Twins (July 1-3), Royals (July 18-20), Yankees (Aug. 1-3), Astros (Aug. 4-6), Blue Jays (Aug. 22-24), and Tigers (12-14) at loanDepot park in Interleague play next season.

The Marlins will also host games at loanDepot park on Jackie Robinson Day (April 15 vs. Arizona), Lou Gehrig Day (June 2 vs. Colorado), Juneteenth (June 19 vs. Philadelphia), and Independence Day (July 4 vs. Milwaukee).

Miami closes the 2025 regular season with a three-game homestand against the New York Mets from September 26-28.
