WEDNESDAY

4:30 p.m. ET – Surprise (BAL, CLE, HOU, KC, TEX) @ Glendale (CIN, CWS, LAD, PHI, STL)
Connor Phillips (CIN No. 15) earned top performer honors for Week 1 on the strength of his superb Desert Dogs debut. The 23-year-old right-hander makes his second start against a Surprise lineup anchored by top Royals prospect Jac Caglianone (MLB No. 17). Left-handed Orioles prospect Juan Rojas starts for Surprise, after the 20-year-old tossed three scoreless innings in his AFL debut.

9:30 p.m. ET – Salt River (ARI, COL, MIN, NYY, WSH) @ Scottsdale (DET, NYM, PIT, SF, TOR)
D-backs No. 7 prospect Yu-Min Lin tossed three scoreless innings in his AFL debut. The Taiwanese left-hander looks to keep his spotless ERA and he could be a challenge for a Scottsdale team full of talented left-handed bats like the Giants' Bryce Eldridge (MLB No. 35), the Mets' Drew Gilbert (MLB No. 74) and the Pirates' prospect Termarr Johnson (MLB No. 75). That Top 100 contingent is joined in the Scorpions' lineup by ninth-ranked Tigers prospect , a fellow lefty hitter who was a Week 1 standout, recording a three-homer game against Glendale.

9:30 p.m. ET – Peoria (ATL, MIA, MIL, SD, SEA) @ Mesa (BOS, CHC, LAA, OAK, TB)
The Peoria lineup is full of doubles machines, led by the AFL's top two in two-baggers through Week 1 -- Colt Emerson (SEA No. 1/MLB No. 27), who had six in five games, and Ethan Salas (SD No. 1/MLB No. 19), who had four. Mesa starter Danny Kirwin (BOS) will also have to navigate AFL home run leader Kemp Alderman (MIA No. 12) in his second outing. The right-hander fanned five across three innings of one-run ball in his circuit debut.

THURSDAY

4:30 p.m. ET – Scottsdale (DET, NYM, PIT, SF, TOR) @ Peoria (ATL, MIA, MIL, SD, SEA)
Led by Emerson, Salas and Alderman, the Javelinas lineup has been scoring runs in bunches all fall. Stopping them will be the task for Scottsdale starter, the Cuban left-hander Kendry Rojas (TOR No. 11), who pitched to a 2.43 ERA at High-A this season as a 21-year-old. He’ll be opposed by righty Coleman Crow (MIL No. 30).

4:30 p.m. ET – Mesa (BOS, CHC, LAA, OAK, TB) @ Salt River (ARI, COL, MIN, NYY, WSH)
Mesa catcher Moises Ballesteros (CHC No. 4/MLB No. 44) is making his presence felt at and behind the dish this fall, and in this matinee, his assignment will be catching 6-foot-5 left-hander T.J. Fondtain (Rays) in the southpaw’s second start of the fall. Another physical starting pitcher – though this one a righty – in Jackson Fristoe (Yankees) toes the rubber for Salt River, while knuckleballer Devin Kirby may make an appearance out of the Rafters’ ‘pen.

9:30 p.m. ET – Surprise (BAL, CLE, HOU, KC, TEX) @ Glendale (CIN, CWS, LAD, PHI, STL)
If Glendale finds itself with a late lead, it knows who to hand the ball to. The Desert Dogs’ bullpen is anchored by righty Matt Svanson (Cardinals), whose 27 saves at Double-A Springfield ranked second in the Minor Leagues among closers. Right-hander Jerming Rosario (Dodgers) will start for Glendale against righty Jose Fleury (HOU No. 10) for Surprise.
