The Miami Marlins and CHEQ announced today a multi-year partnership that will implement CHEQ’s pioneering mobile payment app at loanDepot park, enhancing the first-class fan experience at the ballpark. The partnership pairs two organizations that share innovation as a core value. The Marlins are the first professional sports team to utilize CHEQ’s innovative technology, which allows fans to order food ahead from their phones and spend more time in their seats enjoying the game.
Fans will be able to use CHEQ’s new mobile technology to order ahead at concession stands, allowing guests to get back into the swing of the summer season in a safe and enjoyable manner, all from their personal mobile device. CHEQ’s technology after the 2021 season will also provide fans the ability to order food directly to their seats in select areas of the ballpark as well as be great teammates and share the ballpark fun by purchasing food and beverages for their friends through the app.
As the first ordering app available to independent restaurant operators, CHEQ can also be used beyond the ballpark, with more than 1,000 restaurants around South Florida using the innovative technology. Fans should visit Marlins.com/Food for more information on ballpark bites.

Multi-year strategic partnership reinforces Marlins commitment to fans’ ballpark experience, highlighted by drone disinfection program
The Miami Marlins today announced a multi-year partnership with Florida Pest Control and parent company Rentokil, a global leader in disinfection, hygiene, and pest control services. The strategic partnership features a focus on providing additional proactive and innovative safety measures for guests at loanDepot park.
A key component to the partnership with Rentokil is the drone disinfection program, which will deliver effective and efficient disinfection of loanDepot park strategically throughout the year. Licensed pilots use FAA-approved, state-of-the-art drone technology and flight path programming for a targeted approach to cover large open areas, such as the seating bowl inside loanDepot park. A fast-acting formula inactivates pathogens within four (4) minutes of the drone application, including coronavirus, norovirus, H1N1, SARS, MRSA, swine flu, E. Coli, Salmonella and more. The formula leaves behind no harsh fumes or visible residue.

MIAMI MARLINS STEP UP TO THE PLATE WITH LYSOL TO STRENGTHEN BALLPARK DISINFECTION PROTOCOLS
The Miami Marlins and RB, the makers of Lysol, today announce their partnership to jointly enhance the team’s existing disinfection and cleaning measures at loanDepot park, prioritizing consumer protection as the team looks to welcome fans back to loanDepot park during the 2021 regular season. The Marlins become the first Major League Baseball team to partner with Lysol and leverage the industry-leader’s 100-plus years of germ-kill expertise and innovation to put in place enhanced disinfection measures that help protect fans, players and team staff from the spread of illness-causing germs, during the team’s Spring Training and regular season games and practices. Today’s announcement follows the commitment by RB with MLB, announced in October 2020.
The Marlins will work with microbiologists and germ-kill experts from Lysol to strengthen and reinforce in-park disinfection measures, with a focus on high-touch germ hotspots including railings, bathrooms, dugouts and clubhouses. RB will supply the Marlins with EPA-approved disinfection products, including those proven to be effective against SARS-CoV-2 , the virus that causes COVID-19, to use across the high-touch and high-traffic areas where germs are most prevalent, and dispensers with Lysol Disinfecting Wipes will be made available around the ballpark for fans to use.
MIAMI MARLINS ENROLL TO RECEIVE WELL HEALTH-SAFETY RATING FOR LOANDEPOT PARK
Ballpark reinforcing commitment to fan health and safety for upcoming 2021 season and events within continuous focus on experience
With a continuous commitment to invest in the fan experience, the Miami Marlins today announced the club is pursuing the WELL Health-Safety Rating for loanDepot park through the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI). WELL Health-Safety Rating is an evidence-based, third-party verified rating for all new and existing building and space types focusing on operational policies, maintenance protocols, stakeholder engagement and emergency plans to address a post-COVID-19 environment now and into the future. The WELL Health-Safety Rating can help guide users in preparing their spaces for re-entry in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, instilling confidence in those who come through the building as well as the broader community.
WELL Health-Safety certification is another step in the Marlins organization’s commitment to applying proactive and innovative measures for ballpark guests and event attendees. In March 2020, the Marlins and Miami Parking Authority announced the integration of free-flow parking for Marlins baseball home games, a convenient process that eases the arrival experience for fans with a contactless, mobile payment experience. Marlins ownership has also kept fan safety top of mind with the proactive expansion of the safety netting along each foul line.
“The health and safety of our fans and guests, along with our players, coaches and staff, is of the utmost importance to our organization,” said Michael Shaw, Marlins Head of Experience and Innovation. “Certifying loanDepot park with the WELL Health-Safety Rating should further build guest confidence in the preventative measures being applied to fan experiences throughout the ballpark.”
loanDepot park will join Yankee Stadium as the first two Major League Baseball facilities to enroll in the WELL Health-Safety Rating and the BB&T Center as the first two sports facilities in South Florida currently participating in the program. The Marlins plan to announce in the coming weeks additional health and safety measures that will be put in place for 2021 home games at loanDepot park.
