The Miami Marlins Foundation partnered with Florida Blue and TECO for Homeplate Meals distribution at loanDepot park.
Wellness
Under the wellness pillar, we focus on challenges that prevent children from excelling in school and recreational activities. The Miami Marlins Foundation addresses food insecurity and healthy eating while encouraging fitness in the South Florida Community as well as creating resources for our student athletes to handle the pressures of performing on the field and in the classroom.
Physical Health
Miami Marlins Foundation and Florida Blue have teamed up with Farm Share to wrap a refrigerated food truck. Each truck transports over 5,000,000 meals across the state of Florida, annually.
The Miami Marlins Foundation partners with the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired to bring free eye exams and glasses to students at our four Slugger Schoolhouses through their mobile unit to ensure that every student has the best chance of academic success.
The Miami Marlins Foundation hosts an annual Thanksgiving Distribution presented by Love, Tito’s and MaxSip at loanDepot park. Marlins players, Marlins front office, community leaders, and partner volunteers come together to donate one thousand Thanksgiving meals to pre-selected low-income families in our local neighborhood. Each family receives a Thanksgiving bag which includes a 10-pound turkey and fixings.
Mental Health
The Miami Marlins Foundation in partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and Positive Coaching Alliance, implemented the Great Minds – Great Athletes program to highlight the importance of mental and emotional wellness among student athletes.
