Zack Minasian was promoted to his current position of Vice President, Pro Scouting in 2022. He joined the Giants Organization in 2019 after spending the previous 14 seasons in the Milwaukee Brewers organization, most recently holding the position of Special Advisor – Baseball Operations. For six years he was the Club’s Director – Professional Scouting and also worked for the Brewers organization as Manager of Minor League Scouting, Personnel/Coordinator of Pro Scouting and as Baseball Operations Assistant. At 27, Minasian took over as the Brewers’ Professional Scouting Director, becoming the youngest Scouting Director in baseball. While with the Brewers, Minasian assisted in the Brewers three playoff appearances, most notably ending a 26-year playoff drought in 2008 and a franchise best 96 wins in 2011. While with Milwaukee, Minasian was a part of acquiring players such as: CC Sabathia, Zack Greinke, Carlos Gomez, Josh Hader, Corey Knebel, Jean Segura and Will Smith among others.
Minasian grew up in a Major League clubhouse beginning at age five and worked as a batboy/clubhouse attendant for his father, Zack Sr., who is the longtime clubhouse manager with the Texas Rangers. Minasian’s brother, Perry, is the General Manager for the Los Angeles Angels and his brother, Calvin, is the Director of Equipment & Clubhouse Services for the Atlanta Braves. Minasian is godson to late Hall of Fame manager Tommy Lasorda and his wife, Jo.
