Paul Bien was promoted to his current position of Vice President, Baseball Analytics in 2022. He is responsible for overseeing the organization’s baseball analytics department in utilizing data and technology to deliver information to Scouting, Player Development, and Major League coaching staffs. He also provides quantitative research and analysis in support of all aspects of Baseball Operations, with a focus on evaluating potential player acquisitions at all levels.

The Palo Alto, CA native began his career with the Giants in 2012 after previous experience with Northrop Grumman and Accenture. Bien graduated with Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Electrical Engineering from UCLA, and currently resides in Berkeley with his wife Karen.
