Yelich was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with low back inflammation. The outfielder was scheduled to see a spine specialist on Thursday to discuss the next steps, including the possibility of season-ending back surgery. More >

Mike Trout, Angels

Trout (torn meniscus in left knee) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday but was removed after two innings due to left knee soreness. He is considered day to day. More >

J.P. Crawford, Julio Rodríguez and Gregory Santos, Mariners

Crawford (right hand fracture) and Rodríguez (right high ankle sprain) were placed on the 10-day IL on Tuesday.

Crawford is expected to miss 4-6 weeks, and general manager Justin Hollander said Rodríguez will be reassessed in a week. More >

Santos left Wednesday's eighth-inning relief appearance with what manager Scott Servais called a right knee injury. More >

Kodai Senga and Christian Scott, Mets

Senga (right posterior shoulder capsule strain) threw a bullpen session at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday and is currently on pace to slot into the rotation vs. the Braves on Friday. More >

The Mets placed Scott on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a sprained UCL in his right elbow. More >

Byron Buxton, Carlos Correa, Royce Lewis and Jose Miranda, Twins

Buxton was hit on the right forearm by a pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning during Wednesday's game, and Austin Martin replaced him in center field to begin the top of the eighth. The Twins announced that Buxton has a right forearm contusion.

Correa (right plantar fasciitis) received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his right heel and said Monday that he hopes not to miss more than another week or two.

Lewis (right adductor strain) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, and Miranda (low back strain) did so on Wednesday. More >

Bryan Reynolds, Pirates

After starting the Pirates' first 101 games of the season, Reynolds was a late scratch from the team's lineup against the Cardinals on Wednesday due to back spasms. More >

Jorge Mateo, Orioles

Mateo was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left elbow subluxation. The infielder left Tuesday night's game against the Marlins with an apparent left arm injury after an infield collision with teammate Gunnar Henderson, and manager Brandon Hyde said Mateo will be out for "some time." More >

Joe Musgrove and Tom Cosgrove, Padres

Musgrove (right elbow inflammation) incorporated his full arsenal of breaking pitches and stepped on the gas with his intensity in his most recent bullpen session.

Cosgrove (left elbow inflammation) has made two rehab appearances for Single-A Lake Elsinore, with his stint beginning Saturday. More >

Tanner Bibee and Matthew Boyd, Guardians

Bibee exited Wednesday's start before the beginning of the sixth inning with cramping in both of his quads and hamstrings. He said he’s cramped up in each of his starts since he tossed six scoreless innings against the Mariners on June 19. Bibee still expects to make his next start. More >

Boyd (left elbow surgery) is slated to make his next start with Double-A Akron on Friday.

Ozzie Albies, Whit Merrifield and Max Fried, Braves

Albies exited Sunday's game after hurting his left wrist while attempting to field a throw at second base on a stolen-base attempt in the top of the ninth inning. X-rays revealed a fracture, for which he is expected to miss about eight weeks.

Merrifield, who joined the team Monday, took a ball off a finger on his right hand while taking infield practice. X-rays came back negative, but he required four stitches and is considered day to day. More >

Prior to Sunday's game, Fried was placed on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to July 18, with left elbow neuritis. More >

Giancarlo Stanton, Jasson Domínguez and Ian Hamilton, Yankees

The Yankees expect to decide by Saturday or Sunday if Stanton (left hamstring strain) will be ready for game action, though it is not yet clear if he will go on a Minor League rehab assignment. Stanton said that he needs to “stack” a few more good days before that determination is made.

Domínguez (significant left oblique strain) took live batting practice on Monday and could join Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and be playing in games within the next week.

Hamilton (right lat strain) resumed his throwing program during the week of July 7 and is close to being able to accelerate his recovery process, per manager Aaron Boone. More >

Cody Bellinger, Cubs

Bellinger (fractured left middle finger) went through a pregame workout (hitting and throwing) on Wednesday after advancing to on-field batting practice on Tuesday. Cubs manager Craig Counsell said there is a possibility that Bellinger could return from the IL at some point during the upcoming road trip, which begins Friday. More >

Sandy Alcantara, Marlins

Alcantara (Tommy John surgery) was scheduled to throw his first bullpen session on Wednesday in Miami. More >

Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Ricky Tiedemann, Blue Jays

Kiner-Falefa (left knee sprain) has ramped up baseball activities coming out of the All-Star break. As long as everything goes well through Friday, the Blue Jays expect him to join Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday for a rehab assignment.

Tiedemann, the Blue Jays' No. 1 prospect, will meet with both Dr. Keith Meister and Dr. Neal ElAttrache -- separately -- in the coming days to evaluate his throwing elbow. More >

Reese Olson, Tigers

Olson was placed on the 15-day IL on Sunday with a right shoulder strain. While the Tigers do not yet have a timetable for his return, the injury is mild and will not require surgery. More >

Matt McLain and Luke Maile, Reds

McLain (left shoulder surgery) has been able to take ground balls, run the bases and lift weights since joining the Reds in Atlanta on Monday, but he has not yet been cleared to hit or dive. He is currently scheduled to begin a rehab assignment on Aug. 12.

Maile (herniated disc) ran the bases on Tuesday and could begin a rehab assignment by the end of the month. More >

Jacob deGrom and Josh Jung, Rangers

deGrom (right UCL repair surgery) is "getting close" to facing hitters, according to manager Bruce Bochy. He threw a 40-45 pitch bullpen session on Tuesday and is scheduled to throw another on Friday. He remains on track to begin a rehab assignment after the Trade Deadline.

Jung (right wrist fracture) was scheduled to face live pitching on Tuesday. If all goes well, he could begin a rehab assignment this weekend. More >

Taijuan Walker and Spencer Turnbull, Phillies

Walker (right index finger inflammation) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday at Target Field and then throw live batting practice on Saturday at Citizens Bank Park.

Turnbull (right lat strain) started playing catch in Clearwater, Fla., on July 13, and manager Rob Thomson said he expects Turnbull to throw on flat ground from 120 feet some time this week. More >

Justin Verlander and Luis Garcia, Astros

Verlander (neck stiffness) threw off the mound on Saturday and is scheduled to throw another side session on Wednesday.

Garcia (Tommy John surgery) threw a 31-pitch bullpen session Monday, his second time off the mound since a July 4 Minor League rehab start with Double-A Corpus Christi. More >

Edman (right wrist surgery, sprained ankle) was expected to take ground balls, run the bases and take batting practice on the field with Double-A Springfield on Tuesday and then serve as the designated hitter on Wednesday. More >

Triston Casas and Vaughn Grissom, Red Sox

As of Monday, Casas (torn cartilage in left rib cage) was swinging at close to 100 percent intensity against soft toss.

Grissom (right hamstring strain) began a Minor League rehab assignment on Saturday with Triple-A Worcester. More >

Robbie Ray and Alex Cobb, Giants

Ray (Tommy John surgery) threw 5 1/3 innings in his final rehab start for Triple-A Sacramento on Friday and is on track to make his Giants debut on Wednesday against the Dodgers.

Cobb (left hip surgery) made his first rehab start for Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, striking out four over five scoreless innings while throwing 60 pitches. Cobb will have a between-start bullpen session this week before making another rehab start the following weekend. More >

Ryan Pepiot, Drew Rasmussen and Jeffrey Springs, Rays

Pepiot (right knee infection) was discharged from the hospital on Monday and returned home to St. Petersburg on Tuesday. He is expected to get back on the mound relatively soon after that.

Rasmussen (right flexor strain) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Sunday by pitching a perfect 15-pitch first inning (11 strikes) with one strikeout and touching 98.8 mph with his fastball. He is likely to return during the final two months of the regular season.

Springs (Tommy John surgery) made his eighth rehab start with Triple-A Durham on Saturday and is on track to pitch five innings in his next rehab start for Durham. More >
