LHP Buchter joining D-backs on Minors deal
The D-backs agreed to a Minor League deal with reliever Ryan Buchter on Tuesday, according to MLB Network insider Jon Heyman.
Buchter would earn $925,000 if he makes the Major League team, per Heyman. The club has not confirmed the report.
Buchter spent most of the 2020 season with the Angels, making 10 appearances with a 4.50 ERA and eight strikeouts in six innings. He was designated for assignment in September and became a free agent, then signed a Minor League deal with the Yankees and became a free agent again at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old left-hander has a 2.90 ERA over six seasons in the big leagues, including four straight seasons with more than 50 relief appearances and an ERA under three from 2016-19. Buchter has 243 strikeouts in 220 career innings.
