Celebrate Disability Night
Presented by MercyJoin the Cardinals to kick off Disability Pride Month in July with the inaugural Celebrate Disability Night on Thursday, June 27th. With the purchase of a special Theme Ticket, fans will take home an exclusive Cardinals t-shirt celebrating the disability community.
The design on the front of the shirt features the Cardinal bird on a bat, surrounded by eight wheelchair icons in red, navy, yellow, and powder blue, each holding a baseball, baseball glove, baseball cap, and foam finger. The wheelchair icon is considered to be the International Symbol of Access. The design on the sleeve is an STL logo with coloring based on the Disability Pride Flag created by writer Ann Magill.
Each color of the flag represents a different disability experience:
- Red – physical disabilities
- Gold- neurodiversity
- White – invisible disabilities and disabilities that haven’t yet been diagnosed
- Blue – emotional and psychiatric disabilities, including mental illness, anxiety, and depression
- Green – for sensory disabilities, including deafness, blindness, lack of smell, lack of taste, audio processing disorder, and all other sensory disabilities
The shirt was designed in partnership with our friends at Starkloff Disability Institute – a local nonprofit focused on building inclusion where we live, learn, work, and play through disability-led programs that advance economic opportunity and transform lives.
The Cardinals are committed to making baseball and Busch Stadium accessible to all. Our Access Guide for Guests with Disabilities highlights accommodations available around the ballpark. If you have additional questions about accessibility, please call our Guest Services department at 314-345-9556.
