Assistant General Manager & Director of Scouting
Randy Flores was promoted to Assistant General Manager on November 27, 2018. He has been the Director of Scouting since August 28, 2015, overseeing all aspects of the scouting department including the amateur draft.
Flores, 45, was part of the Cardinals 2006 World Series Championship team and spent eight seasons in the Majors. The left-hander played for St. Louis from 2004-08, appearing in over 200 games as a relief pitcher. He was drafted in 1997 by the New York Yankees from the University of Southern California, where he holds its all-time record for wins (42). Flores made his Major League debut in 2002 with the Texas Rangers and also saw big league action with Colorado (2002, 2009-10) and Minnesota (2010).
Prior to joining the Cardinals front office, he returned to USC, earning a M.Ed Postsecondary Administration in 2014. During graduate school he was USC’s Pitching Coach (2013), worked as a college baseball analyst for ESPN and Pac-12 Networks, and founded a sports video technology company.
A native of Pico Rivera, Calif., Flores and his wife, Lindsey, reside in Olivette with their two daughters, Sloane (11), Rowan (9), and son Hawkins (3).
