Manager, Baseball Communications
Michael Whitty joined the St. Louis Cardinals before the 2016 season. In his position, Michael works closely with the media and broadcasting teams on gamedays, assists with team announcements and press releases, prepares and distributes advance and gameday material, researches daily statistical information and updates the annual media guide.
Michael additionally assists the department with coordinating media requests and exposure opportunities with players, coaches and front office staff, managing gameday pressbox operations and credentialing media at Busch Stadium while working with Major League Baseball in all aspects of their policies.
Prior to St. Louis, Michael worked five seasons across two minor league affiliates in the Cardinals organization, most recently serving as Director of Media Relations for the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds (2013-15). Previous experience also includes working four seasons as Media Relations Manager for the Triple-A Nashville Sounds (2009-12).
Whitty began his career in the Cardinals organization, interning for two seasons with the Double-A Springfield Cardinals. He initially served as a Sales & Marketing intern (2006) before transferring to Media Relations for a second season (2007). The Missouri State alum holds his Bachelors in Science in Entertainment Management and Marketing as well as his Master's in Business Administration.
Michael is a native of nearby Lebanon, Mo., and resides in downtown St. Louis.
