July 6: 2B (right groin tightness) out of lineup
Torres was removed from Friday's game against the Red Sox with groin tightness after running out an infield single in the fourth inning. The Yankees announced that Torres was examined by a physician, and no imaging was planned at the time.

Torres has been playing through a groin issue for several weeks, which prompted him to exit a June 20 game against the Orioles and affected him during a June 25 game against the Mets. He was not in the lineup on Saturday vs. Boston.

"It's similar to what he had a couple of weeks ago. It doesn't seem too significant, but he was feeling it in that groin area," said manager Aaron Boone, who said that Torres could return to the lineup on Sunday.

Expected return: Mid-August
Rizzo will miss eight weeks after fracturing his right forearm in a collision at first base against the Red Sox at Fenway Park on June 16. He will not be able to resume baseball activities for about four to five weeks.

Rizzo said on June 18 that he expects to return this season. On June 19, Rizzo was moved to the 60-day IL when the Yankees activated Gerrit Cole for his 2024 debut.

Rizzo collided with Boston pitcher Brennan Bernardino while running through first base, tumbling beyond the bag and landing on his right arm. He grabbed for his wrist and remained down for several moments. Rizzo at first thought he had hurt his wrist, but imaging revealed the fracture to actually be in his upper forearm, in the elbow area.

As of June 18, Rizzo's elbow was still swollen and painful. His initial day-to-day treatment includes straightening his elbow and going through range-of-motion exercises. If Rizzo stays on the original recovery timeline the Yankees provided, he would resume baseball activities just after the All-Star break, and his return to the Yankees would be in mid-August at the earliest.
