Cards' 2021 Winter Warm-Up will be virtual
ST. LOUIS -- The Cardinals are rethinking their annual fanfest by making the 2021 Winter Warm-Up a completely virtual experience due to the ongoing pandemic. The event will be held online for fans from Jan. 16-18, but the Cardinals Caravan that travels around the St. Louis region with players and alumni has been canceled for '21.
While fans won’t be able to congregate in downtown St. Louis in January, the organization is finding ways to hold interactive Winter Warm-Up events, including the 50/50 raffle (which begins Friday) and player autograph opportunities. From Dec. 4-24, fans can pre-order autographed baseballs and photos that will be personalized by select players, including Paul Goldschmidt, Tyler O’Neill and Tommy Edman. A limited number of these items, along with non-personalized autographed baseballs, are available, so fans are encouraged to purchase early. The complete list of autographed item availability and delivery schedule can be found at cardinals.com/wwu.
The silent auctions will still take place online from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. CT on Jan. 16 and 17 and from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. CT on Jan. 18. The list of all the items will be available the week before auctions go live. More details about the rest of the online Winter Warm-Up will be announced in December.
Money raised from autographed items and events tied to Winter Warm-Up will go to Cardinals Care, the charitable arm of the Cardinals.
