LOS ANGELES -- Dodger Stadium experienced a power failure just before the start of the second inning of the Brewers' 5-2 win over the Dodgers on Monday night.
Milwaukee led at the time, 1-0, when the lights failed and power throughout the stadium momentarily was cut off. Power was restored, but the game was delayed as the lights needed to be reset.
The game resumed after a 23-minute delay.
The Dodgers later released this statement on the outage: "The delay in tonight's game was caused by a disruption in the city's power feed to the facility. Once fixed, the lights came back on and the game resumed after 23 minutes."
"I haven't seen that one," said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts after the game. "They got it resolved quick enough. It was pretty weird."
Brewers manager Craig Counsell remembered playing a game in San Diego that was suspended by a power outage and finished the next day.
"It was a little bit of a challenge," he said, "but it wasn't a long delay, and we were one inning into the game. So for each guy, I didn't think it was that big of a deal."
Added Brewers starter Freddy Peralta: "I just came in and stretched in the training room, tried to stay hot. That's what I did."
