With the National League East Division title locked up, Braves third baseman Austin Riley will miss the final two regular-season games against the Red Sox because of a tight right quad, said manager Brian Snitker on Saturday.

Riley has had the quad problem since Tuesday against the Marlins. He missed the next two games against Miami before returning to action on Friday and re-aggravating the injury in the Braves' 8-7 win in 11 innings. The quad injury is not considered serious; in fact, Riley is expected to take live batting practice before the postseason starts next week. Infielder Adeiny Hechavarría received the start at third on Saturday against Boston.

“We are going to give him four days of treatment. Hopefully, he may be able to get some live at-bats [from] the early group and not just take any chances,” Snitker said. “I saw him this morning. He is out walking around. We are just going to get him treated. He can hit and do all that. We want to try to keep him away from the quick movements and running.”

Entering Saturday’s action, Riley was hitting .239 with eight home runs and 27 RBIs.
