Major League Baseball on Tuesday announced the master schedule for the 2022 regular season, which will open on Thursday, March 31, with all 30 teams in action.

Opening Day is jam-packed with intrigue, as the schedule features 11 divisional matchups in addition to one Interleague showdown between the Phillies and Astros at Minute Maid Park in Houston. Jackie Robinson Day on April 15 also has a full slate of 15 games, including a matchup between the Reds and Dodgers at Dodger Stadium, the site of the 92nd All-Star Game on July 19.

Interleague Play throughout the season will feature the AL East vs. the NL Central, the AL Central vs. the NL West and the AL West vs. the NL East. 

Here are some of the 2022 schedule highlights for every club.

AMERICAN LEAGUE EAST

Blue Jays: The Blue Jays open 2022 on the road against the Orioles on March 31, but they’ll return to Toronto for their home opener against the Rays on April 4. Their first tastes of the Yankees and Red Sox will both come on the road, first with a trip to New York from April 11-14, then in Boston from April 19-21. Canadian baseball fans will circle May 20-22 on their calendars, when Joey Votto and the Reds make the trip north for a series, and the Blue Jays will make their annual trip to Seattle from July 7-10, which always brings down waves of Canadian fans from the western provinces. The last week of the season is already teed up to be key, with the Yankees and Red Sox each coming to town for a three-game series to close out the season. Schedule >

Orioles: The Orioles open their 2022 season at home against the Jays. It’ll be a challenging opening month, with 18 games against AL East opponents and a 10-game road trip through Oakland, Los Angeles and New York. For the Interleague schedule, they host the Brewers on April 11-13 for the first time since 2003, and they’ll also play a pair of two-game series against the Cubs in Baltimore from June 7-8 and in Chicago from July 12-13. The Orioles’ home schedule concludes with a four-game series against the Astros from Sept. 22-25. They finish the season on a six-game road trip through Boston and New York. Schedule >

Rays: Tampa Bay will begin the 2022 season on the road against two AL East opponents. The Rays will play the Red Sox on March 31, their first Opening Day game in Boston since 2009, then play two more games at Fenway Park before heading to Toronto for a three-game set. Their first homestand of the season will feature two series against the Orioles, with the home opener set for April 8, and A’s. The Rays will visit Wrigley Field (April 18-20) and Cincinnati’s Great American Ball Park (July 8-10), host the Cardinals (June 7-9) and Pirates (June 24-26) and play a pair of series against the Brewers (June 28-29 at home, Aug. 9-10 in Milwaukee) in Interleague Play. The Rays will end the season on the road with a trip to Cleveland (Sept. 27-29) and Houston (Sept. 30-Oct. 2). Schedule >

Red Sox: Boston will open its 2022 season at home on March 31, when the Red Sox take on the Rays for three games in four days. It begins a stretch of 11 days during which they’ll meet AL East foes for nine consecutive games, as they host the O’s for three before heading to the Bronx on April 7 to kick off the 2022 edition of the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry. Interleague Play begins early this season, with Boston heading to Atlanta (May 10-11; also Aug. 9-10). The Red Sox will also host the Reds (May 31-June 1), the Cardinals (June 17-19) and the Brewers (July 29-31), and travel to Chicago (July 1-3), Pittsburgh (Aug. 16-18) and Cincinnati (Sept. 20-21). The last 2022 regular-season homestand at Fenway is against the O’s from Sept. 27-29; the Red Sox will travel to face the Blue Jays from Sept. 30-Oct. 2 to close out the regular-season slate. Yankees: New York will open the 2022 season on the road and play against the two AL West clubs from Texas. The Yankees start with a four-game series against the Rangers (March 31-April 3) and then remain in the Lone Star State for a three-game series against the Astros (April 4-6). The Yankees then have their home opener against their biggest rival, the Red Sox (April 7-10). After that, they play a tough four-game series (April 11-14) against the Blue Jays. You want to see Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani at the Stadium? The Yankees host the Angels for a three-game series from May 31-June 2. Don’t forget the Yankees play NL clubs, starting with the Reds (July 12-14). Yes, the Mets are part of the schedule. The two New York clubs play each other in a two-game series at the stadium starting Aug. 22. During the final month of the season, the Yankees will play mostly AL East clubs, but they will also see action against the Twins, Brewers and Pirates. Schedule >

AMERICAN LEAGUE CENTRAL

Indians: Cleveland will boast “Guardians” across its chest for the first time on March 31 when the club will open the 2022 season at Progressive Field against the Royals. The first Ohio Cup matchup will take place in Cincinnati on April 12-13 before wrapping up in Cleveland on May 17-18. In Interleague Play, the Giants (April 15-17), the Padres (May 3-4) and the D-backs (Aug. 1-3) are slated to travel to Northeast Ohio, while Cleveland will play the Rockies (June 14-16), Dodgers (June 17-19) and Padres (Aug. 23-24) on the road. The club will wrap up its regular-season schedule with a six-game homestand from Sept. 27-Oct. 2, with three games vs. Tampa Bay before closing out the year against Kansas City. Schedule >

Royals: The Royals open the 2022 season in Cleveland, facing the “Guardians” for the first time. It’ll be heavy on the division matchups to start the year; the Royals face AL Central teams in five of the first six series, with the first two games of the I-70 Series against the Cardinals -- April 12-13 at Busch Stadium -- coming in between. Kansas City’s home opener will be the second series of the year, April 4-7, against the White Sox. The Royals could have a particularly tough stretch after the All-Star break, when they visit the Yankees for four games to finish up July, then play the White Sox in Chicago before hosting the Red Sox, White Sox and Dodgers at Kauffman Stadium. And the 2022 regular season will finish where it started -- in Cleveland for a three-game set from Sept. 30-Oct. 2. Schedule >

Tigers: The Tigers begin their 2022 season with a weeklong West Coast trip, starting with Opening Day in Seattle. The home opener, otherwise known as Detroit's unofficial holiday, is April 8 against the White Sox. The Red Sox (April 11-13) and Yankees (April 19-21) both visit Comerica Park in the opening month, part of a challenging early schedule. The Tigers travel to Dodger Stadium from April 29-May 1 and San Francisco on June 28-29, plus they have visits to Detroit by the Padres (July 25-27) and Giants (Aug. 23-24). If the Tigers plan to challenge the White Sox for division supremacy, six matchups over the final 2 1/2 weeks could give them an opportunity. Schedule >

Twins: The Twins will come out of the gate with six road games against a pair of AL Central rivals in the White Sox (March 31-April 3) and the newly named Cleveland Guardians (April 4-6) before hosting the Mariners for their home opener on April 7. Minnesota will also take on the Dodgers at home in two Interleague games on April 12-13 before heading to Boston for four games at Fenway Park against the Red Sox (April 15-18). The Twins have another tough stretch in the first half of May, with matchups against the A’s (May 5-8, May 15-18), the Astros (May 10-12) and the Guardians (May 13-15) on tap. Seven of its nine series in September are against divisional opponents, including three at home vs. the White Sox from Sept. 27-29. Schedule >

White Sox: The White Sox open their 2022 season at home against the Twins. That three-game set is followed by three in Kansas City and three in Detroit, meaning the White Sox begin with nine straight division games. A crosstown matchup against the Cubs will arrive early in ‘22, with the first two games at Wrigley Field (May 3-4) and the two games to be played at Guaranteed Rate Field on May 28-29. The White Sox have a seven-game West Coast trip in September to Seattle (Sept. 5-7) and Oakland (Sept. 8-11) and finish the season against Fernando Tatis Jr. and the Padres in San Diego from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2. AMERICAN LEAGUE WEST

Angels: The Halos’ AL West bona fides will be put to the test early in the season, with 17 of their first 19 games coming against divisional opponents. That will include a four-game road series in Oakland (March 31-April 3) to open the season. The Angels will take on the Astros on April 7 in their home opener as part of a four-game series. They will face a tough stretch in late May and early June, as they are scheduled to face the Blue Jays (May 26-29), Yankees (May 31-June 2), Phillies (June 3-5), Red Sox (June 6-9) and Mets (June 10-12) before heading to Dodger Stadium for the Freeway Series (June 14-15). If the Angels are within striking distance of the postseason come late August, a stretch of games against the Blue Jays (Aug. 26-28), Yankees (Aug. 29-31) and Astros (Sept. 2-4) could be pivotal. Astros: The Astros open the 2022 season at home against the Phillies in the only Interleague series to start the season. The Yankees will follow the Phillies to Minute Maid Park from April 4-6. The Astros’ first road trip is against the Angels from April 7-10. The Astros will play these other NL East teams in Interleague Play: at the Nationals (May 13-15), at home against the Marlins (June 10-12) and at the Braves (Aug. 19-21). Houston will also play the Mets on June 21-22 in Houston and June 28-29 in New York. In between, they’ll play the Yankees in New York, June 23-26, giving the Astros six consecutive games in the Big Apple. The Astros close out the season Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at home against the Rays. Athletics: The A’s open the 2022 season with a four-game set against the Angels. That kicks off a seven-game homestand that also features a visit from the Tigers for a three-game series from April 4-7. Following an off-day, the A’s embark on a 10-game, three-city road trip, with stops in Philadelphia, Tampa Bay and Toronto from April 8-17. The annual Battle of the Bay gets underway with two games in San Francisco April 26-27 and resumes with two games back in Oakland from Aug. 6-7. In addition to the Interleague series in Philadelphia, the A’s also have road trips to Atlanta (June 7-8) and Washington (Aug. 30-Sept. 1), as well as home series against the Marlins (Aug. 22-24), Braves (Sept. 6-7) and a late-season three-game series against the Mets (Sept. 23-25) at the Coliseum. The A’s conclude the regular season with their final six games on the road against the Angels and Mariners from Sept. 27-Oct. 2. Schedule >

Mariners: Seattle will have a chance to get off to a hot start, as it opens the season with home series against the Tigers (March 31-April 3) and Angels (April 4-5) before heading to Minnesota to take on the Twins (April 7-11). Seattle’s schedule gets tougher in May, with series against the Astros (May 2-4), Rays (May 5-8), Phillies (May 9-11), Mets (May 13-15), Blue Jays (May 16-18), Red Sox (May 19-22), A’s (May 23-25) and Astros (May 27-29). Seven of Seattle’s first 10 games after the break will come against Houston, but the Mariners won’t play the Astros again the rest of the way. Seattle finishes up the season with six home games against the Rangers (Sept. 27-29) and A’s (Sept. 30-Oct. 2). Schedule >

Rangers: Texas will open its 2022 campaign with a four-game series against the Yankees at home, a set that will feature the return of Joey Gallo to Arlington for the first time since his trade at the '21 Deadline. The Rangers' Interleague slate includes road trips to Miami (April 4-6), Philadelphia (May 3-4) and New York (July 1-3) and home series against Atlanta (April 29-May 1) and Washington (June 24-26). The Rangers won’t face an AL West opponent until the fifth series of the season on April 14-17, when they open a four-game series against the Angels at home. The annual Lone Star Series between the Rangers and Astros will kick off its 2022 campaign on April 25 in Arlington. Schedule >

NATIONAL LEAGUE EAST

Braves: The Braves will remain in Florida at the end of Spring Training to open the season with a four-game series in Miami. After heading to Citi Field for two games, the club will return to Atlanta for an April 7 home opener against the Reds. Coming out of the All-Star break, the Braves will welcome Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout and the Angels to Truist Park for a three-game series (July 22-24). Atlanta will travel to play the Rangers and Mariners in Interleague Play. They will also host the Astros and play a pair of two-game home-and-road series against the A’s. Schedule >

Marlins: Miami will open its 2022 campaign at loanDepot park against rival Atlanta for a four-game series. In Interleague Play, the Marlins host the Rangers (April 4-6) and Mariners (April 29-May 1) and visit the Astros (June 10-12) and A's (Aug. 22-24). They also will have a home-away series against Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani and the Angels (April 11-12, July 5-6). The annual Citrus Series with the Rays will resume May 24-25 in St. Petersburg and Aug. 30-31 in Miami. And the Marlins will close out the regular season in New York (Sept. 27-28) and in Milwaukee (Sept. 29-Oct. 2). Schedule >

Mets: For the first time in four years, the Mets will open their season at Citi Field with fans in the stands. The team began on the road in 2019 and ‘21 and played in front of an empty house during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign. That will change March 31, when the Mets welcome the Nationals to Queens for a three-game set to open the season. The balance of power will be established early in the NL East, with the Mets’ first dozen games all against divisional opponents. After that, they’ll take frequent trips out West to face the Angels, Astros and A’s in Interleague Play, while hosting the Mariners, Astros and Rangers at home. Also of note is the return of an abbreviated Subway Series, with matchups at Citi Field on July 26-27 and Yankee Stadium on Aug. 22-23. Schedule >

Nationals: The Nationals open their season on the road, squaring off against the Mets for a three-game series. The race for the NL East title will start early, with Washington facing off against divisional foes for the first 12 games of the season -- including its April 4 home opener against Philadelphia. The Nats will welcome familiar face Trea Turner and the Dodgers to Nationals Park from May 23-25. The club has two different 10-day road trips, getting a West Coast trip out of the way early (April 29-May 8), taking on the Giants, Rockies and Angles for three games apiece. The Battle of the Beltways returns for the 17th season, first in Baltimore (June 21-22) and back in Washington (Sept. 13-14). The second 10-game road trip of the season features sets with the Mets, Cardinals and Phillies (Sept. 2-11). In the final month of play, the Nats will face an NL East team in 21 of their 28 games, ending their season at home against Philadelphia (Sept. 30-Oct. 2). Schedule >

Phillies: The Phillies will open the 2022 season in Houston with an Interleague series against the Astros. Following a brief five-game road trip that also features two games against the Nationals and three off-days in the first eight days of the season, the club returns to Philadelphia for an April 8 home opener against the Athletics. One of the highlights of the schedule will come from June 3-5, when the Phillies welcome Mike Trout back to the area -- along with fellow superstar Shohei Ohtani -- in a three-game weekend series against the Angels at Citizens Bank Park. Along with A's and Angels (and all of the usual NL suspects), the Phillies will also host Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Blue Jays for a two-game Interleague showdown from Sept. 20-21. Schedule >

NATIONAL LEAGUE CENTRAL

Brewers: The Brewers open and close the 2022 championship season at domed American Family Field, good news in terms of getting the pitching lined up the way they want it. Opening Day against Arizona will mark the ninth time in 11 years that the Brewers begin the season at home. Besides the usual matchups against the Twins, the Brewers’ Interleague opponents include Baltimore, Tampa Bay and Boston on the road and at home against the Blue Jays, Rays and Yankees -- the latter during an all-New York homestand against the Yankees and Mets from Sept. 16-21. The Brewers’ closing stretch looks tough on paper this far out; following an off-day on Sept. 8, they play the Reds seven times, the Cardinals four times and the Yankees and Mets three times apiece before finishing with a four-game series at home against the Marlins from Sept. 29-Oct. 2. Cardinals: For the second consecutive year -- and ninth time in the past 11 campaigns -- St. Louis will open the 2022 season on the road when it visits the Pirates at PNC Park, before the Cardinals’ first trip to the Cubs for two games from April 4-6. That’ll mark the club’s fastest trip to Wrigley since Opening Day 2015. The Clydesdales will be broken out for the home opener against the Pirates on April 7 -- a homestand that will include the cross-state Royals -- as the Cardinals embark on a season with Interleague Play against the AL East. Those series include: The Orioles and Blue Jays coming to town in May, the Rays and Red Sox visiting in June (including two games in Toronto in July) and the Yankees' coming to St. Louis for the first time since 2014 from Aug. 5-7 -- a high-flying homestand that’ll include the Cubs. A potential postseason push down the stretch will not be easy; the Cardinals’ last road trip is a three-series affair to San Diego, Los Angeles and Milwaukee before they close the season at home against the Pirates. Cubs: It remains to be seen what direction the Cubs will be taking in ‘22, but the North Siders will be taking on some division rivals right out of the chute. Chicago opens next season in Cincinnati, where the Cubs will face the Reds in a three-game set to get the schedule rolling. Come April 4, the Cubs and Cardinals will renew their heated rivalry at Wrigley Field for the home opener. Both the Cards and Brewers will be at the Friendly Confines for the first homestand (April 4-10). In Interleague Play, the Cubs take a trip to Yankee Stadium (June 10-12). The Red Sox (July 1-3) and Rays (April 18-20) come to Chicago, while the Cubs will also make a trek north of the border to face the Blue Jays (Aug. 29-31). The crosstown Cubs-White Sox series will take place on the North Side on May 3-4, and move to the South Side on May 28-29. The Cubs’ regular season will conclude with back-to-back home series against the Phillies and Reds. Schedule >

Pirates: It looks like Pittsburgh will get a taste of what the division will have to offer in 2022 right out of the gates next season. The Pirates open the year by hosting the Cardinals in a three-game set at PNC Park, hit the road for three games in Cincinnati and four games in St. Louis and then return to PNC Park to host the Cubs for a two-game set. In Interleague Play, the club plays two series against the Yankees (in Pittsburgh on July 5-6 and in New York on Sept. 20-21). Schedule >

Reds: Per tradition, baseball’s oldest franchise will open at home -- this time hosting the Cubs for Opening Day on March 31 at Great American Ball Park. In addition to in-state rival Cleveland, the 2022 Interleague schedule features trips to Toronto (May 20-22), Boston (May 31-June 1) and in New York vs. the Yankees (July 12-14). The split home-and-home season series vs. the Guardians is set for April 12-13 at home and May 17-18 at Progressive Field. The regular season wraps up against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, with a three-game series on Sept. 30-Oct. 2. Schedule >

NATIONAL LEAGUE WEST

D-backs: Arizona will open its 2022 season against the Brewers in Milwaukee with a three-game series. The club will then travel to Los Angeles for a three-game set against the Dodgers (April 4-6). Arizona’s home opener is scheduled for April 7 against the Padres in the first of a four-game series at Chase Field. In Interleague Play, the D-backs play host to the Royals (May 23-24), Twins (June 17-19) and Tigers (June 24-26), and they go on the road against Cleveland (Aug. 1-3) and Kansas City (Aug. 23-24). The D-backs will close out the regular season with three games in San Francisco (Sept. 20-Oct. 2). Schedule >

Dodgers: After starting the 2021 season on the road, the Dodgers will open the 2022 season with a seven-game homestand at Dodger Stadium against the Rockies and D-backs. The Dodgers’ Interleague slate includes visits to the Twins, White Sox and Royals. They’ll host the Indians -- who will be the Guardians by then -- the Tigers and Twins. Other notable games for the Dodgers include their first matchup against the Padres on April 22 in San Diego and their first meeting against the Giants on May 3 at Dodger Stadium. A challenging part of the schedule comes in late May, a 10-game road trip against the Phillies, Nationals and D-backs. That’ll be a lot of miles. Nine of the Dodgers’ last 12 games will be at home. Giants: For the 13th consecutive year, the Giants will open their season on the road, as they’ll head to Petco Park for their 2022 opener against the Padres on March 31. Following a seven-game road trip to San Diego and Milwaukee, the Giants will return home to host the Marlins in their home opener on April 8. The Giants' Interleague schedule includes road trips to Cleveland, Detroit and Minnesota. They’ll also host the Royals, Tigers and White Sox at Oracle Park. Other schedule highlights include the annual Bay Bridge Series against the A’s (April 26-27 at home and Aug. 6-7 at Oakland) and their first matchup with the rival Dodgers (May 3-4 at Los Angeles). The Giants will close out their regular-season schedule with a six-game homestand against the Rockies and D-backs from Sept. 27-Oct. 2. Schedule >

Padres: Much like the 2021 season, the Padres’ matchups with the Dodgers will be primetime television with a primetime audience. Of San Diego’s six series against Los Angeles, five will be on weekends. Additionally, nine of the games between the Southern California rivals will come in September. In terms of Interleague Play, the Padres will have the opportunity to play the Guardians (May 3-4, August 23-24), Mariners (July 4-5, Sept. 13-14), Tigers (July 25-27), Twins (July 29-31), Royals (Aug. 26-28) and White Sox (Sept. 30-Oct. 2). The Padres’ season will end with a tough six-game gauntlet, three against the Dodgers and three against the White Sox. Schedule >

Rockies: The schedule maker decided the Rockies needed some early answers. Seven of their first nine games are against their longtime nemesis and the team that has dominated the National League West for so long: the Dodgers. The year starts with the first of four at Dodger Stadium. The Rockies will try to get comfortable at home with a nine-game homestand against the Royals, Giants and Mets from May 13-22. A big stress point should be a 10-game, 11-day tour of eastern heat and humidity against the Mets (four games), Braves (three) and Reds (three) in late August to September. And if the year is going to start with so many games against the Dodgers, might as well end it that way -- with three at Dodger Stadium Sept. 30-Oct. 2. Schedule >
