Blue Jays Host 5th Annual Pride Celebration at the Ballpark on Friday, June 14

Event features special pregame festivities and entertainment, pride-themed giveaway to the first 15,000 fans, and more than $45,000 in donations and givebacks to 2SLGBTQ+ community organizations

The Toronto Blue Jays are celebrating 2SLGBTQ+ Pride Month at the ballpark with the 5th annual Pride Night presented by TD on Friday, June 14 as the Blue Jays take on the Cleveland Guardians (7:07 p.m.). The event features a Blue Jays Rainbow Rope Corduroy Hat giveaway (image here) for the first 15,000 fans, special pregame festivities, live performances, and themed activities and concessions throughout the ballpark.

Jays Care Foundation and TD are donating more than $45,000 to organizations that support 2SLGBTQ+ communities, including Sherbourne Health, Rainbow Railroad, Friends of Ruby, AIDS Committee of Toronto, Casey House, Pride Toronto, LGBT YouthLine, BLOOM by Loft Community Services, and The 519.

Pride Night Details

  • The first 15,000 fans to enter the ballpark will receive a Blue Jays Rainbow Rope Corduroy Hat giveaway, presented by TD (image here).
  • Pregame ceremony including a cheque presentation with Jays Care and TD representatives, a Blue Jays Progress Flag presented by volunteers, and national anthems performed by Forte – Toronto Gay Men’s Chorus.
  • First pitch thrown by Rod Michano, a noted Canadian First Nations HIV/AIDS activist, educator, and supporter of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, who works to help reduce the stigma of those living with HIV/AIDS.
  • Pride-themed activities with artists for all ages, photo opportunities, Glambot, silent disco and Pride décor throughout the ballpark. Fans can also enjoy performances by drag girl group FAC4OR.
  • Fry Days with McCain returns on Pride Night, featuring the Love is Love poutine – McCain SureCrisp fries topped with gravy, cheese curds, assorted summer vegetables, ancho chipotle aioli and herbed vinaigrette.
  • Rainbow Sangria can be found at all Outfield District bar locations, as well as Show Your Pride churros with candy floss, vanilla frosting and rainbow sprinkles in TD Park Social.

Pride Night kicks off a six-game homestand with other great highlights for fans to enjoy, including a three-game series against the division-rival Boston Red Sox beginning Monday, June 17:

  • On Saturday, June 15, the Blue Jays celebrate MLB’s Play Ball Weekend, an initiative to inspire everyone to play baseball. At Rogers Centre, there will be baseball-themed activities for fans 14 and under to participate in during the game (3:07 p.m.) and a special starting lineup announcement with kids from the Rally Cap program.
  • Jr. Jays Father’s Day on Sunday, June 16 brings the first outdoor Jr. Jays program of 2024! Starting at 10:30 a.m., the outdoor program includes games, inflatables, activities, and performances. Kids 14 and under can run the bases postgame and reserve a timeslot at bluejays.com/runthebases. Come out to the ballpark and celebrate the remarkable father figure in your life.
  • As the Blue Jays return home, so does NIGHT MODE. The team will sport its City Connect uniforms on Monday, June 17 and Wednesday, June 19.
  • Loonie Dogs Night presented by Schneiders returns for its sixth installment on Tuesday, June 18 (7:07 p.m.). Blue Jays fans are averaging more than 1.85 hot dogs per fan each game and could reach 300,000 loonie dogs on Tuesday.
  • The homestand wraps on Wednesday, June 19 (7:07 p.m.) where the first 15,000 fans receive a Bo Bichette Bobblehead presented by Enercare (image here).
