Help bring play-based programs to 45,000 kids across Canada – enough to fill every seat in Rogers Centre.
At Jays Care, we believe that play is the ticket to recovery for kids across Canada. And yet, meaningful sport opportunities are not available, affordable, or accessible to a huge proportion of kids across the country, especially those living in historically marginalized communities. Our dream is a Canada where no kid is held back due to a lack of access to opportunity, a lack of belonging, or a lack of belief that there is a role for them in sport and in society. Help use sport, play, and the power of our #BlueJaysCommunity to support a happy and healthy future for enough kids to fill Rogers Centre.
THE ISSUES
- As many as 62 per cent of Canadian girls aren't participating in sport.
- 1 in 3 youth from lower income households reported no sports participation since the start of the pandemic.
- Over one quarter of youth living with physical and/or cognitive disabilities have not taken part in sport of any kind.
- Across Canada there is a lack of community sports programs that reflect the diverse cultures and traditional sporting activities of Indigenous peoples.
