Yankees partner with Vapur to enhance sustainability efforts at Yankee Stadium
Through the Vapur Hydration Program, twenty-three bottle- refilling stations have been installed in the Stadium, with 21 more to be added prior to the start of the 2025 season; Yankees-branded Vapur “anti-bottles” now sold at Yankee Stadium Team Stores
The New York Yankees today announced that in partnership with Vapur and its Vapur Hydration Program, the club has significantly enhanced its sustainability efforts in Yankee Stadium. Over the last two months, 23 bottle-refilling stations were installed across all levels of the Stadium, and 21 more are scheduled to be installed during the upcoming offseason. Additionally, Vapur’s unique “Anti-Bottles” — which stand when full and fold when empty — will be sold with Yankees-branding for just $7.99 each in Yankee Stadium team stores.
“Sustainability efforts are always top of mind for the Yankees, and providing bottle-refilling stations will go a long way in minimizing the amount of single-use plastic containers,” said Yankees Senior Vice President of Stadium Operations Doug Behar. “I can speak from experience when I say that using reusable water bottles quickly becomes habitual. We deeply appreciate Vapur for their guidance in securing these fountains and look forward to our guests enjoying this amenity in the Stadium this season and in the years to come.”
“Vapur is extremely excited to join with the Yankees in offering its refilling stations, which are manufactured by Elkay, and having the Vapur-Yankee co-branded flexible water bottles in Yankee Stadium,” said Vapur Co-founder and Director Brent Reinke.
The goal of the Vapur Hydration Program is to make clean drinking water more readily available for people and to reduce waste from single-use plastic bottles. The program includes both Vapur refilling stations and Vapur's reusable “Anti-Bottle.” Billions of bottles of water are consumed globally every year and fewer than 20 percent are recycled — the vast majority of disposable bottles end up as plastic waste in landfills. The Vapur Hydration Program is making an impact and reducing this staggering statistic having saved over 1 million single-use bottles from landfills since its launch in 2012.
Prior program participants include major sports and entertainment venues, national parks, ski resorts, hospitality, K-12 Schools, and college and university campuses.
At Yankee Stadium, bottle-refilling stations can be found in the concourses adjacent to the following sections:
