Yankees acquire OF Terrance Gore from Kansas City
The Yankees have acquired OF Terrance Gore from the Kansas City Royals in exchange for cash considerations.
The right-handed batter hit .275 (14-for-51) with 13R, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1RBI and 13SB (in 18 attempts) in a career-high 37 games with the Royals this season.
In 100 games over parts of six Major League seasons with Kansas City (2014-17, ’19) and the Chicago Cubs (2018), Gore is hitting .224 (15-for-67) with 32R, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1RBI and 40SB (in 49 attempts). He helped the Royals win the 2015 World Series, stealing one base in two games over the first two rounds.
The 28-year-old was originally drafted by Kansas City in the 20th round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft.
He is not on the Yankees’ 40-man roster, and will report to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
