What to know about Yankees Spring Training

TAMPA, Fla. -- It is the dawn of a new era in Yankees camp as pitchers and catchers prepare to descend upon George M. Steinbrenner Field in the coming days. No "C" will be affixed to the largest uniform jersey in camp, but none is necessary. This marks the beginning of Aaron Judge’s captaincy, the 16th in franchise history.

“For the most part, I’m just going to continue to be myself -- try to be a great teammate, lead by example, be a teammate that helps support everybody around us and push everybody to be their best,” Judge said. “The ultimate goal of playing in New York is to bring a championship home, every single year. That’s what’s going to stay at the forefront for me.”

When is the first workout for pitchers and catchers?
Pitchers and catchers have their first workout scheduled for Feb. 16. Pitchers and catchers participating in the World Baseball Classic are due in camp on Feb. 13.

What is the date of the first full-squad workout?
The Yankees’ first full-squad workout will be held on Feb. 20.
