After many of the Yankees' victories, Didi Gregorius marches off the field and into the clubhouse, where he reaches into a locker and begins tapping on his iPhone to construct an emoji-filled recap of the game for his followers.

As popular as Gregorius' 140-character missives have become, the shortstop never seems to find the space to celebrate his own accomplishments. That makes this a perfect time for fans to reward Gregorius, as he is among the five candidates for the American League Esurance All-Star Game Final Vote.
Voting ends at 4 p.m. ET on Thursday. Fans can show their support for Gregorius by tweeting with #SirDidi4Sure, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET on Thursday, any tweet that includes #SirDidi4Sure will count toward his vote total.
"It would be an honor for me to go at least one time in my career," Gregorius said. "I think I'd be happy with that. That's what I tell everybody, if I go put up numbers and I can go once, I'll be happy with that."
Gregorius would join five Yankees in Miami on July 11: Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez, Starlin Castro, Dellin Betances and Luis Severino.

Seeking his first career All-Star selection, Gregorius is facing a group of talented competition. Elvis Andrus of the Rangers, Xander Bogaerts of the Red Sox, Logan Morrison of the Rays and Mike Moustakas of the Royals are also candidates in the Final Vote.

Gregorius said that his social media following may give his candidacy a boost. 
"Probably, but everybody has social media," Gregorius said. "Everybody else is probably going to do the same thing. We'll see how it goes."
The 27-year-old Gregorius is in his third season with the Yankees, having inherited the shortstop position from franchise legend Derek Jeter. He has made his presence felt on both sides of the ball, delivering big hits and playing excellent defense behind the Yankees' pitching staff.
Born in the Netherlands and raised in Curacao, Gregorius wrapped play on Sunday batting .310/.333/.489 with 11 doubles, 10 home runs and 36 RBIs in 57 games, having missed the first month of the season while he recovered from a right shoulder strain.

"I'm not satisfied. I can always do better," Gregorius said. "I keep saying that to myself, because I'm never satisfied. It's been the same thing since I was a little kid. I always think there's room for improvement on offense and defense. Everything can be better."

Over a career-high 17-game hitting streak from May 28 through June 15, Gregorius batted .361 (26-for-72), the longest hit streak by a Yankee since Jacoby Ellsbury hit in 17 straight back in 2014. Gregorius also launched his first career grand slam in Saturday's 7-6 loss to the Astros at Minute Maid Park.
