'Fifty years of love, baby!': Nick Turturro has EPIC reaction to Soto's G5 HR

Few sporting events can match the pure unabashed emotion that playoff baseball invokes, whether you’re a player or a fan.

That was certainly the case for actor Nick Turturro, a big Yankees fan who let his emotion show in a filmed Fox Sports segment while he watched New York’s pennant-clinching win in Game 5 of the ALCS against the Guardians on Saturday.

The clip begins with Turturro donning a Yankees jersey in his living room during Juan Soto’s epic at-bat that resulted in a go-ahead three home run in the 10th inning. As Turturro realizes the ball travels over the fence, the magnitude of the situation takes over him and he yells for joy while ripping off his jersey.

“I can’t believe it. A freaking three-run homer,” Turturro screams. “Is he built for the moment? Yes, he’s built for the moment!”

That same joy came out when Soto caught the pennant-clinching out, securing the Yankees’ first World Series berth since 2009. Turturro then turned to celebrating like the Yankees players, taking a seat and popping a bottle of champagne much like the Bronx Bombers did in the visiting clubhouse at Progressive Field in Cleveland.

“I’m so happy. I think we’re going to win it all,” Turturro says as the champagne is flowing. “I’ve waited a long time -- 15 years. I’ve been a Yankees fan for 50 freaking years. I paid my dues.”

Turturro, who was born in Brooklyn and has starred in several New York City-based films and TV shows such as "Blue Bloods" and "NYPD Blue," clearly feels passion for his Yankees.

"It's called passion," Turturro told MLB.com. "Fifty years of love, baby!!!"
