Elston Howard: Baseball Pioneer, Yankees Legend
Elston Howard donned Yankees pinstripes with pride. As a baseball pioneer -- and a core member of the sport's greatest dynasty -- Howard made Yankees history. The franchise's first African American player debuted in 1955. Howard played with a humble, yet passionate, drive to succeed. Teammates embraced his tireless commitment to winning. Howard’s steady bat and catching expertise culminated in AL Most Valuable Player honors in 1963. February 23rd would mark Elston Howard’s 92nd birthday. Join us on any of the three available program dates in celebrating a trailblazing Yankees legend. Other program dates will be announced soon. This program is approximately 65-75 mins in length and has an open forum for questions at the end.
