White Sox Charities Day

As the White Sox 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, CWSC works tirelessly to make Chicago a better place to live, work and play beyond the diamond. Through initiatives such as Charities Day, CWSC raises funds to promote youth education and advancement, share the love of the game through youth baseball initiatives, assist children and families in crisis and champion those battling cancer.

• To date, CWSC has donated more than $47 million to non-profit organizations and community programs across the city and surrounding areas.
• 96 cents out of every dollar donated to CWSC is put back into the community.

The Amateur City Elite (ACE) provides a pathway to the game of baseball for more than 150 youth annually, while offering educational and mentorship programming aimed at pulling kids away from the dangers and potentially fatal distractions of Chicago’s violent neighborhoods. Now in its 17th year, ACE provides the financial means and educational resources for youth ages 12 through 17. Since 2007, the ACE program has helped more than 280 athletes receive college scholarships, with 29 athletes drafted by Major League Baseball teams.

Through grant giving, CWSC and the White Sox Community Fund, a McCormick Foundation fund, support Chicago-based agencies that provide critically important services to our community's underserved and marginalized residents. In 2024, the White Sox announced cumulative charitable donations of more than $1.5 million to 37 organizations.

The Volunteer Corps (VC), in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, unites White Sox fans through service opportunities throughout Chicagoland. In 2009, the organization established the VC in response to a call for Americans to better their communities through service. Celebrating 15 years of serving the community, the VC continues to make an impact beyond the diamond. To date, nearly 15,500 White Sox fans have served at 680 events, logging 62,274 hours of service – a value of over $1.3 million in labor.
