Team to watch
We’ll give Double-A Hartford the edge over High-A Spokane here, with Hartford having nine Top 30 prospects on the roster and two Top 100 guys in Zac Veen and Drew Romo. Spokane will have nine once Adael Amador joins the roster, giving the club seven of the organization’s top 11.

Players we could see in MLB in 2023
While much of the Rockies’ talent is in Double-A or lower (not that a guy can’t make the jump from Double-A -- looking at you, Zac Veen), it certainly is possible we’ll see Michael Toglia and his raw power once again in Colorado, and Nolan Jones’ hot start in Albuquerque could have him back in the big leagues, at a number of positions, as well. The Rockies feel Brenton Doyle figured some things out, which is why he’s in Triple-A, and there’s no question he could play center field in the big leagues right now.

New faces
The Rockies went over slot to sign high school right-hander Jackson Cox in the second round of the 2022 Draft. He didn’t officially pitch last summer but was very impressive during instructs. Rockies fans will get their first official look at him later this summer. Acquired during the Winter Meetings from the A’s, Jeff Criswell made his organizational debut with Albuquerque on April 2. Fifth-rounder Connor Staine didn’t pitch last summer after signing out of Central Florida, and he’ll make his debut with Fresno.

On the shelf
Amador got a little dinged up during Spring Training, so he’s back in extended spring training and will join Spokane when he’s ready. The same is true for right-hander McCade Brown, while former first-rounder Ryan Rolison is working on building his left shoulder back up.
