Rocky Mountains at center of '21 ASG logo
DENVER -- MLB and the Rockies revealed the logo for the 2021 All-Star Game in a pregame presentation on Friday, and Rockies players wore a purple star that celebrates Colorado’s iconic landscape on their jersey sleeve and on cap patches for Friday night’s game against the Phillies at Coors Field.
The 91st Midsummer Classic, scheduled for July 13 at Coors Field, was moved from Atlanta with support of the City of Denver, the State of Colorado, Visit Denver and the Denver Sports Commission.
The logo features a star in the Rockies’ signature purple -- bordered in the Rockies’ familiar silver, white and black -- with the MLB batter logo and “2021 All-Star Game” and “Colorado” also in the team’s colors. The lower portion of the star, the centerpiece of the mark, depicts the Rocky Mountains in a lighter purple, silver, black and white.
According to the MLB press release, “Rockies purple along with the modern geometric mountain silhouette create the logo’s dimension and signifies the expansive views from downtown Denver and Coors Field. The Club’s iconic style can be seen through the unique typography and striation motif. Stylistically these icons and colors create a distinct Rockies theme to MLB’s Midsummer Classic.”
During this year’s All-Star festivities, Coors Field will play host to the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game and All-Star Celebrity Softball Game on All-Star Sunday, July 11, as well as the T-Mobile Home Run Derby on Gatorade All-Star Workout Day, Monday, July 12. To be announced over the coming weeks are details on 2021 All-Star Week scheduling, including information for PLAY BALL PARK, the 2021 Draft, community initiatives and ticketing.
