Pure speed meets pure heat: Check out Elly's insane All-Star cleats

The “fastest man alive” got to run the bases in style in his very first All-Star Game.

Reds shortstop , known for his rocket arm, power bat and elite sprint speed, flashed some fancy footwear during the 94th MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

The 22-year-old star donned pink Louis Vuitton Jordan cleats, standing out Tuesday for more than his unique attributes.

Unfortunately, MLB’s stolen base leader didn’t get the chance to show off his wheels. De La Cruz singled in his first at-bat of the NL’s 5-3 loss, but he didn’t attempt a steal before being stranded on second base to end the seventh inning.

De La Cruz, who made his MLB debut on June 6, 2023, has taken a big step forward in his second season. He’s hitting .256 with 17 homers, 46 steals and an .830 OPS in his first All-Star campaign and was a player-elected pick to the Midsummer Classic.

With an average sprint speed of 30.1 feet per second (30+ is considered elite), the Dominican star can simply fly. We’ll have to wait and see if De La Cruz continues to do so in the stylish pink shoes he debuted Tuesday.
