Join us for the Running with the Rays 5K presented by Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital on Sunday, January 12 at Tropicana Field! The course will begin on 1st Avenue South and continue through the streets of downtown St. Petersburg, routing through Al Lang Stadium, before finishing back on 1st Ave S.

The Rays and Rowdies extend our sympathies and support to everyone impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. In addition to our $1 million pledge, all proceeds from the Running with the Rays 5K will benefit Hurricane Relief efforts in the Tampa Bay Area.

Race Packets

Race packets will be available for pickup at Tropicana Field beginning on Saturday, January 11 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Day of race packet pickup will be available on Sunday, January 12 starting from 6 a.m. - 7:15 a.m.

The race will start at 7:30 a.m.

How far is a 5K?
  • 5 Kilometers = 3.1 miles
Is parking provided?
  • Yes, parking will be free for all racers and spectators. Runners and spectators will park in Tropicana Field Lots 1 and 2.For more information on parking, please click here.
What kind of surface is the race on?
  • Participants will be running/walking on grass, asphalt and concrete surfaces, but a vast majority of the route will be on concrete/asphalt.
Will there be a Race Guide?
  • Yes. There will be a police officer directing all participants as well as course marshals through the race route.
Will I be able to run/walk with a stroller?
  • Yes, but all strollers/joggers are encouraged to line up towards the back/last corral so as not to impede running traffic.
Will I be able to participate if I am in a wheelchair?
  • Participants and guests in wheelchairs are encouraged to join in the activities. If you are participating in a wheelchair, please feel free to contact us if you have specific questions about the event.
Can I bike/rollerblade/scooter the course?
  • Bicycles, scooters, and rollerblades are not permitted.
Can I run/walk with my pet?
  • Pets are not permitted to run/walk with participants. Service animals are permitted.
How is my time recorded?
  • The 5K is chip timed. Participants will receive a bib with a timing chip attached to it. The chip will begin timing once you cross the start line, recording your net time until you cross the finish line.
How does self-seeding work?
  • During the registration process, participants will be asked to provide their average 5K race time. On the day of the race, there will be signs indicating time ranges. Participants are asked to go to the time range that matches their time given during registration.
Will water or food be provided before or after the race?
  • There will be one water station on the course and one in a post-race refreshment area.
Can I get a refund or transfer my registration?
  • There are no refunds for this race, as proceeds benefit Rays Baseball Foundation Hurricane Relief efforts for the Tampa Bay community.
