Sensory Room

Through consultation with the University of South Florida – Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD), the Rays designed and constructed a Sensory Room with the intent to provide a safe space for those with sensory processing needs. Located in Suite 45 on our 200 level, the Sensory Room provides a quiet area where guests can decompress if they feel overwhelmed or overstimulated. Guests will find fun items in the Sensory Room that offer a safe and relaxing environment while stimulating or calming specific senses. Guests entering the Rays Sensory Room must be 18 or be accompanied by an adult.

For access to the room, please visit Guest Services at Gate 1 or 3.

We ask that guests limit their time in the Sensory Room to 20 minutes to accommodate others visiting the ballpark. If you are uncomfortable sharing the Sensory Room with others, please vacate the room and wait until the space is unoccupied.

  • Bean Bag chairs
  • TV
  • Adult high-top with two chairs
  • Couch
  • Refrigerator

Sensory Specific items include:

  • Marble Wall - Turn the 1,000 marbles to receive visual, tactile and aural sensory input that produces a delightful calming sensation.
  • Liquid Floor Tile – Play and dance on these beautiful colored tiles to experience a soothing and relaxing entertainment.
  • LED Bubble Wall – Watch the LED lights change colors, as the bubbles float up the tank to simulate a soothing and calming effect.
  • Noise Machine – Choose from 6 digitally recorded relaxing Sounds: White Noise, Thunder, Ocean, Rain, Summer Night, and Brook.

Restrooms:

While the room does not have an attached restroom, they are just a short walk away from the room.

In addition to this Sensory Room, the Tampa Bay Rays offer complimentary sensory bags to use during your time at the ballpark. Please visit any of our guest service locations (Gate 1, 3, & 4) to check one out. If you have additional questions or concerns, please step outside to locate the nearest Fan Host.
