Bob Simpson is currently CEO and Chairman of TXO Energy Partners, L.P. of Fort Worth, Texas. The Company is focused on conventional oil and gas production onshore in America, primarily in the Permian and San Juan Basins. With long-lived legacy assets, the thriving entity is committed to a “produce and distribute” vision for its owners with a conservative financial strategy.
Previously, Mr. Simpson was Chairman of the Board and Founder of XTO Energy Inc. During his tenure, Bob was honored by Barron’s Magazine in their “30 Most Respected CEOs in the World” from 2006 through 2008. Further, Institutional Investor Magazine named him their “Best CEO” among Oil & Gas Exploration and Production Companies in 2009. Under Mr. Simpson’s stewardship, XTO became the largest producer of natural gas in America, beginning as a start-up entity in 1986. In June of 2010, ExxonMobil acquired XTO Energy for $41 billion, yielding exceptional returns for investors.
As a Texan, and the youngest of four brothers, Bob grew up on a modest ranch in Cisco where he graduated as the salutatorian of his class. He attended Baylor University, earning his BBA degree in Accounting, with honors, and quickly followed that with an MBA. In his early career, Bob earned his CPA and and worked for an accounting firm while he served in the Texas Army National Guard. With his passion for Fort Worth, Mr. Simpson has consistently invested in the architecture and educational institutions of the city. Also, Mr. Simpson is an avid fan of baseball, ranching and western antiques.
