After setting club record with 36 holds in 2012 Vinnie recorded just 6 holds in 2013 as injury and ineffectiveness were the story of his season...Started the year as the primary set-up man to Chris Perez after making 3 appearances in the World Baseball Classic for Team USA (2.0IP, 2R/ER)...Recorded an April ERA of 2.25 (8.0IP, 5H, 2R/ER, 8K, .185AVG) before going on the 15-day Disabled List for the first time in his career from May 1-16 with right elbow tendinitis...Pitched at A Lake County on May 15...Posted an ERA of 4.62 (25.1IP, 27H, 13ER) upon activation until being optioned to AAA Columbus on July 30 with a season ERA of 4.05 (33.1IP, 32H, 15ER, 19BB, 34K)...Was removed from 8th-inning role after blown hold on July 7 vs. Detroit (0.2IP, 4H, 3R/ER)...Did serve as the club's closer in June and was 6-for-6 in save situations from June 16-28 while posting a 2.08 ERA for the month in 13 games (13.0IP, 12H, 4R/3ER, 15K)...With Cleveland batters hit .277 (18-65) with runners on base off him, .256 (10-39) with runners in scoring position and .364 (8-22) with RISP-2outs...After his September 3 recall when the Minor League season ended he appeared in 3 games with a 4.50ERA (2.0IP, 5H, 2R/1ER, batters were 5-for-9)...On the year left-handed hitters had a .878 OPS off him (3 2B, 4HR, 9BB)...With the Columbus Clippers he posted an ERA of 3.29 (13.2IP, 13H, 5ER, 4BB, 13K, .265AVG), limited right-handed hitters to a .188 (6-32) average against and posted scoreless outings in 12 of 14 games...Lefties were 7-for-17 (.412) off him at Triple-A as batters hit .381 (8-21) off him with runners on base.

for holds in a single-season (36), which ranked 2nd in the American League
to Joel Peralta of TB leading the Major Leagues in holds (37) on his way to
setting a single-season franchise record for holds....Previous record was
31 by Rafael Betancourt in 2007...Finished 15th among American League
relievers in relief batting average against (.207)...Was also tied for 15th in
relief appearances (career-high 70) and T14th in relief strikeouts (76), which
ranked 4th on the club in 2012... Also led the team in relief innings (14th
in the AL with 70.0IP)...Named Man of the Year by the Cleveland BBWAA

Did not allow a run over a career-high 19 straight appearances from June 30-August 9, covering 21.0 innings of
consecutive shutout relief (10H, 22K)...Both totals (19 games, 21.0IP) were season-highs among Indians pitchers in
2012 and career-bests for Vinnie...Streak was snapped on a 2-run HR from Albert Pujols on August 13 at LA Angels...

and from May 18 thru the end of the season posted an ERA of 2.44 (53 games, 55.1IP, 42H, 15ER, .207AVG) that
lowered his ERA from 3.07 to 2.57. ERA from August 13th-on after the Pujols homer was 6.16 (19.0IP, 24H, 13ER),
allowing runs in 7 of the 19 outings...Took a 2.34 ERA into his career-high 70th
and final outing on the season's last day, October 3 vs. CWS (0.2IP, 3H, 2R/
ER)...Allowed 2HR in an outing for the first time in his career to consecutive

in relief ERA (2.32) and tied for 8th in holds (23)...His .194 (19-98) average with men on base was 12th among AL relievers...Was 2nd among AL rookies in games pitched (Collins KC 68G) and 6th in rookie AL strikeouts (84), the most by a AL rookie reliever...55 of his 67 appearances were scoreless...Recorded at least one strikeout in

over the last two weeks of the regular season...Began the season at AA Akron where he went 1-1 w/3 saves and a
2.70 ERA in 14 relief outings (13.1IP, 12H, 4ER, 18K, .235AVG) and was promoted to AAA Columbus on May 14...He was 1-2 with a 1.55ERA and 14 saves in 43 regular season games with the Clippers (46.1IP, 35H, 8ER, 14BB, 59K)...
Allowed one run in 5.0 innings/5 games during the playoffs (1SV, 2H, BB, 9K) and finished the Triple-A Championship
game Tuesday in Columbus' 12-6 win (1.0IP, 0H, K)...Over his final 10 regular season appearances, he only allowed 3

Split the season between the Lake County Captains of the Class A South Atlantic League and the Kinston Indians
of the Class A Carolina League...Finished second (Randy Newsom, Akron, 30) among Indians Minor Leaguers with
24 combined saves...Began the season with the Captains, going 1-1 with 15 saves in 29 relief appearances...Allowed
exactly 1 earned run in only five appearances and never more than one...Moved up to Kinston in late June, where he
was 1-2 with nine saves in 25 relief outings...Allowed only two home runs all season...SAL All-Star.
