He spent time with the Angels on four separate occasions, hitting .229 with one home run and six RBIs in 48 games (16 starts). Murphy hit .302 with 43 runs scored, seven home runs and 36 RBIs in 73 games with Triple-A Salt Lake. The outfielder made his Major League debut on May 4 against the Tigers and went 2-for-4 with an RBI. His first Major League home run came on May 27 against the Orioles.
