Signed with the Marlins as a minor league free agent on January 25...spent 31 games with double-A Carolina and hit .317 (32x101) before being transferred to triple-A Albuquerque...hit .323 (102x316) in 92 games for the Isotopes with 13 home runs and 63 RBI...declared a minor league free agent Oct. 15.
2004
Was outrighted to triple-A Portland April 1, 2004 where he appeared in just one game before going on the disabled list for the rest of the season with a back injury... declared a minor league free agent Oct. 15.
2003
Otioned to triple-A Rochester, March 29, 2003...played in 80 games for Rochester in 2003, batting .254 (72x283) with 12 doubles and 41 RBI...recalled for his second stint with the Twins, April 29...hit his first Major League home run May 9 off Boston's Pedro Martinez...stayed with the big league club until being optioned to Rochester May 29...he returned to the Twins on July 21 before being optioned to Rochester on August 11...he appeared in 24 games with Minnesota, hitting .246 (16x65) with two home runs and 11 RBI...was claimed on waivers by the San Diego Padres September 9...finished the season with the Padres, appearing in nine games and hitting .250 (2x8).
2002
Began the 2002 season in Edmonton where he played in 129 games and hit .310 (150x484) with a career-high 100 RBI...recalled by Minnesota on Sept. 17 and made his Major League debut that night in Detroit as the starting first baseman...he went 2-for-4 on the night with two runs scored...his first big league hit was a double to center in the fifth inning off of Shane Loux...remained with the Twins for the rest of the season, appearing in seven games and hitting .333 (4x12) with two doubles.
2001
Signed his first Major League contract in February, 2001, but was optioned to Edmonton on March 18...appeared in 118 games for triple-A Edmonton, hitting .311 (127x408) with 13 home runs and 50 RBI.

Began the 2000 season with double-A Carolina, hitting .301 (90x299) with 72 RBI in 86 games before being traded to the Minnesota Twins in July...with double-A New Britain, hit .314 (44x140) in 40 games... appeared in three games with triple-A Salt Lake, hitting .364 (4x11) with a home run and four RBI.
