Split the season between AAA Ottawa and the majors...Had 4 separate call-ups to the Orioles.
Began the year at Ottawa and went 3-for-16 in 4 games before being recalled by the Orioles on April
14...Appeared in 4 games, including 3 as a pinch-runner, and scored one run.
Was optioned to Ottawa on April 24 and went 5-for-35 (.143) in his first 9 games with the Lynx...Batted
.280 over his final 63 minor league games of the season, including a pair of 11-game hitting streaks.
Had 24 stolen bases for the Lynx, tied for 8th in the International League and 3rd among Orioles minor
leaguers despite missing more than 4 weeks at AAA while with the Orioles...Has stolen at least 20 bases
each year of his career and now has 329 steals in his minor league career.
Joined the Orioles for the first two weeks of June when Jay Gibbons was first placed on the disabled
list and went 2-for-6 in 4 games.

Began the season at AA Bowie before moving up to AAA Ottawa...Appeared in 19 games for the
Orioles, making 9 starts, after his contract was purchased from Ottawa on August 22...Went 1-for-5 in his first game on August 22 at New York...Went 1-for-4 with his first major league triple and first RBI on August 28 at Oakland...Led the Orioles organization and was tied for 15th among all minor league players with 51 stolen bases
between Bowie and Ottawa...Had 14 games with 2 or more stolen bases in the minors...Combined to hit .304 (140-461), with 26 doubles, 9 triples, 7 homers and 49 RBI in 118 games between
Bowie and Ottawa...Had the 3rd highest average among O's minor leaguers, behind Bowie's Mike Fontenot (.325) and

Played on three levels of the Orioles minor league system before his contract was purchased by
the Birds on 10/1...Made his major league debut as a defensive replacement in center field that night and
played in each of the final 7 games of the season...When his father, Tim Sr., was acquired from the
Montreal Expos on 10/3, they became only the second father-son teammates in major league history,
after Ken Griffey Sr. and Jr. played together for Seattle in 1990-91...Tim Sr. and Tim Jr. played against
each other two other times earlier in the season: in an Orioles-Expos exhibition game at Ft. Lauderdale
on 3/6 and when Rochester played at Ottawa on 8/21, and the senior Raines was on a rehab assignment
there...That is believed to be the first time a father-son have played against each other in a regular season
professional game...Hit safely in his first 3 big league games with an at-bat, going 4-for-12 (.333)
with 5 runs scored...Went hitless over his final 3 games of the year (11 at-bats)...In his first major league
