Named the Georgia AAAA High School Player of the Year as his team was the Georgia AAAA State Champions... Was a high school teammate of Major League pitcher Edwin Jackson... Attended Auburn University from 2001-04 where he majored in criminal justice.
2009
Began the season at Colorado Springs (AAA) in the Rockies organization... CLOSER: Collected six saves in 16 outings at Colroado Springs, and added seven more for Lehigh Valley (AAA) in the Phillies organization... Was claimed on waivers by the Phillies on May 20... Made 34 appearances at Lehigh Valley, holding opponents scoreless in 24 of his outings... Overall at AAA, went 2-5 with 13 saves and a 3.92 ERA... FOR ONE DAY: Was recalled by the Phillies to make one relief appearance vs. the Cardinals on July 25, allowing on run in two innings.

Pitched 10 games for the Rockies in his fifth professional season... Began the year at Colorado Springs (AAA) after the Rockies reacquired his rights from the New York Mets after he was unable to make their club as a Rule 5 draft pick... Returned to the Rockies on March 27 and made his 2008 debut for the Sky Sox on 4/5... Spent the majority of the season with Colorado Springs, as his contract was purchased from the minors on Aug. 4... Had three stints with the big league club, including spending the final month of the season on the big league roster... Appeared in 10 games for the Rockies, compiling a 9.00 ERA (10.0 IP, 10 ER) with six walks, eight strikeouts and four home runs... Allowed at least one run in 7seven of his 10 MLB appearances, although he did not allow a run in either of his final two games... Opponents hit .310 (13-for-42) against Register, with left-handed batters hitting .375 (9-for-42) and right-handers hitting .222 (4-for-18)... Just one of the four home runs he allowed was to a right-handed hitter... Converted 16 of his 19 save opportunities for the Sky Sox... Went 3-2 with 8 saves and a 3.06 ERA (32.1 IP, 11 ER) in 29 home games and went 2-1 with 8 saves and a 3.71 ERA (26.2 IP, 11 ER) in 27 road appearances... Posted his lowest ERA during any month in June (0.73) when he allowed one run in 12.1 innings; converted all seven of his save opportunities during June... Posted a 1.82 ERA (34.2 IP, 7 ER) with 31 strikeouts when pitching in the 9th inning for the Sky Sox... Faced one batter Aug. 4 vs. WAS in his ML debut, striking out Lastings Milledge... Did not pitch in the Majors again until Sept. 3 vs. SF, when he allowed two home runs and three runs total in 1.0 inning.

Pitched the entire season for Tusla (AA), going 1-3 with a 4.03 ERA (58.0 IP, 26 ER)... Led all of Minor League Baseball with 37 saves (18 at home, 19 on road)... Recorded a save in 11 of 12 appearances from May 3-26... Recorded 12 saves in 14 games in May... Named to the Texas League All-Star team... Pitched 0.2 scoreless innings for the North team on June 26 at the Corpus Christi Hooks' home stadium... Was also selected to the Texas League's postseason All- Star team... Was 1-0 with 6 saves and a 0.87 ERA in 11 outings in August; in 10.1 innings, he permitted six hits, one run (earned), four walks and eight strikeouts... Did not permit a run in his last 10 appearances from Aug. 6-Sept. 1; allowed 4 hits, 3 walks 4 K's in 9.0 innings.

Went 4-10 with a 5.57 ERA (155.0 IP, 96 ER) in 27 games (all starts) in his first season at Tulsa... Pitched two complete games... Struck out season-high seven batters in back-to-back starts on April 12 vs. Springfield and April 17 at Arkansas... Took the loss in a complete game on May 4 at Frisco in the first game of a doubleheader, allowing six runs (five earned) on eight hits with two walks and four strikeouts in 6.0 innings... Pitched second complete game, again receiving the loss, on May 31 at San Antonio; allowed just one hit in 8.0 innings during a 2-1 loss... Earned the win in his lone playoff start, tossing 5.0 scoreless innings.

Posted a record of 9-11 with 4.44 ERA (156.0 IP, 77 ER) in 27 games (all starts) at Modesto (A)... Ranked 4th in the Carlifornia League in innings pitched and 9th in ERA... Led his team in wins, games started, innings pitched and strikeouts (108)... Logged his first career complete game on June 14 at Rancho Cucamonga; in 9.0 innings he permitted one run on 10 hits with 4 strikeouts in the victory... Was rated by Baseball America as having the best slider in Colorado's minor league system prior to the season.
