Last name is pronounced as "CORE-core-ehn"...Graduated from Silliman Institute in Clinton, LA where he lettered in football and baseball...attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and LSU... originally signed by the Expos as a non-drafted free agent on June 15, 2001...signed by Expos scout Dave Dangler...Named the Mariners Unsung Hero by the Seattle Chapter of the BBWAA for the 2008 season...began that year as a non-roster invite and would finish with a 3.22 ERA in 50 appearances...His older brother, Tim, has been playing professional baseball since 1997...he has 40 Major League appearances, all coming with Tampa Bay from 2005- 07...Tim pitched in the Dodgers organization in 2009...Originally signed by Houston to a minor league deal on Aug. 5, 2009, after being released by Seattle on Aug. 3...re-signed to a minor league deal by Houston for the 2010 season and invited to Major League Spring Training on Dec. 8, 2009.

Began the season on the Mariners Opening Day Roster and made eight appearances in April before landing on the Disabled List on April 30 (strained neck)...made three rehab appearances with Triple A Tacoma, tossing 3.0 shutout innings...activated on June 14 and made eight appearances before being designated for assignment on July 24...would refuse the assignment and become a free agent...signed by the Astros to a minor league contract on Aug. 5 and finished his season with Round Rock...in his 13 appearances with the Express, went 0-0 with a 4.12 ERA (9ER/19.2IP)...following the season, became a minor league free agent and was re-signed by Houston on Dec. 8.

Spent the season at Albuquerque (AAA) in the Florida Marlins organization...went 4-4 with 15 saves and a 3.54 ERA (24 ER, 61.0 IP) in 53 relief appearances...ranked 4th in the Pacific Coast League in saves (15) and 5th in relief points (45)...allowed only one home run (276 batters faced)...held opposing hitters to a .270 batting average (63x233)...converted 15 of 21 save opportunities...earned 12 of 15 saves following the AAA All-Star break...went 2-1 with 12 saves and a 3.24 ERA (9 ER, 25.0 IP) in 22 appearances post-ASG...earned a save in 6 of 7 appearances from Aug. 3-17 (1.08 ERA; 1 ER, 8.1 IP)...finished the season with saves in 8 of his last 12 outings.
2006
Split time between New Orleans (AAA) and Harrisburg (AA) before his contract was purchased by Washington on July 14...was optioned back to New Orleans August 5, then recalled on September 5 but did not pitch...was outrighted by the Nationals on October 6...Went a combined 2-7 with a 2.34 ERA and 27 saves over a total 56.1 innings pitched...his 27 saves were tops among the Nationals' minor league system...Recorded his first career loss, and first career decision, at Pittsburgh on July 15, surrendering a walk-off single to Ronny Paulino...the appearance marked his first Major League game since August 4, 2004...All six Major League appearances came on the road.
2005
Spent the entire season with New Orleans (AAA), notching a 4-4 record and a 4.85 ERA with three saves...made 52 appearances, tied for most on the team...made one start, July 15 against Oklahoma, lasted 2.2 innings, allowing six hits and five runs (three earned).
2004
Corcoran was with the team for a couple of weeks and gave up four runs in 5 1/3 innings. He was sent down to Triple-A Edmonton in early August because the Expos needed an emergency starter.
2003
Corcoran made a meteoric dash to the Majors in only his third professional season, climbing in a period of four months from Class A to the Major Leagues ... posted an overall ERA of 1.23 in 49 appearances at the four levels. Corcoran started the season with Class A Brevard County in the Florida State League, where he went 5-3 with 12 saves and a 1.91 ERA in 33 innings over 28 games ... did not allow a run in 11 games from April 30-May 21 ... was promoted to Double-A Harrisburg on June 16 ... didn't allow an earned run in 17 2/3 innings over 10 games, June 18-July 13 ... went 1-1 and recorded a save and 19 strikeouts over that span ... was selected the Senators' pitcher of the month for July, allowing only one run in 18 1/3 innings (0.49 ERA) ... was sporting a 0.83 ERA with 26 strikeouts in 23 2/3 innings in the Eastern League when the Expos selected his contract on July 27 ... pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings in his first four appearances ... made his big league debut on July 30 against St. Louis, pitching 3 2/3 shutout innings ... was optioned to Triple-A Edmonton on Aug. 29 ... did not allow a run in two innings in his two regular season appearances with the Trappers.
2002
Spent the entire season at Clinton (A) in the Midwest League and led the staff with 48 appearances and 11 saves...was second in strikeouts, fanning 106 batters in 80.0 innings...compiled six saves and a win in seven consecutive outings from July 9-23...selected the Lumberkings Pitcher of the Month for July (1-1, 7 SV, 2.93 ERA).
2001
Made his professional debut with the Gulf Coast League Expos on June 30...made one appearance at Jupiter (A) on July 4.
