2009

Played at the Triple-A level for the 1st time in his career, appearing in 25 games (7 starts) for Pawtucket...Joined the PawSox on 5/10 after beginning the season in extended Spring Training...Began year as a reliever and went 1-0 with a 5.88 ERA (17 ER/26.0 IP) in 18 games out of the bullpen...Posted a 0.69 ERA (1 ER/13.0 IP) and 13 strikeouts over 7 relief appearances from 7/2-25, including a 10.0- inning scoreless streak over the 1st 5 games of that span (6/2-25)...Did not start until 8/1, but went 2-1 with a 3.57 ERA (14 ER/35.1 IP) over 7 games in that role, all coming within his final 8 outings of the season...Logged a 2.82 ERA (7 ER/22.1 IP) over 4 starts from 8/6-25...Left with the lead in each of those contests but fell victim to 4 straight blown saves...Played for Mesa Solar Sox of the Arizona Fall League, going 3-2 with a 6.04 ERA (17 ER/25.1 IP) in 7 starts.

Made Major League debut for BAL and spent entire season on the Orioles roster after being acquired from DET in the 2007 Rule 5 Draft...Began Major League career with a 12.2-inning scoreless streak over 7 outings from 4/2-24...Was 0-1 with a 1.29 ERA (3 ER/21.0 IP) in 1st 14 games through 8/4...Went 0-1 with a 9.77 ERA (17 ER/15.2 IP) over remaining 15 appearances...Spent from 5/2-7/19 on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder impingement (retro to 4/30)...Combined to go 0-1 with a 3.46 ERA (5 ER/13.0 IP) in 11 rehab appearances (1 start) with the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Orioles, Single-A Frederick and Double-A Bowie.
