Lucas James May graduated from Parkway (MO) High School...Was a Missouri All-State First Team selection in 2003...His brother, Steve, played infield for Army at West Point and serves as a Second Lieutenant in the Army...A member of the gold medal-winning Team USA club at the IBAF World Cup...Hit .355 with three home runs and eight RBI in eight tournament games...Went 2-4 with a three-run home run and four RBI in the 10-5 gold-medal game victory over Cuba.

2011

Started the season with Omaha (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League...Traded to Arizona on June 1 and joined Reno (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League, where he spent the rest of the season...Combined to hit .238 (59-248) with 10 home runs and 44 RBI between the two teams...Had three hits at Albuquerque on May 2...With Reno, he hit .349 (15-43) in 12 games in June...Knocked in five runs against Fresno on July 19...Hit .288 (32-111) vs. righthanded pitching...Saw action at catcher, first base and third base...Had 10 games with two hits and two games with three hits...Put together a season-high eight-game hitting streak from June 16-July 3...Batted .433 (13-30) in that span.

2010

Lucas saw his first action in the big leagues after being recalled from Omaha (AAA) on September 1...Was acquired by the Royals on July 28 from the Dodgers with minor league pitcher Elisaul Pimentel in the deal that sent outfielder Scott Podsednik to Los Angeles...Recorded his first Major League hit on September 12 in Chicago, a single off White Sox' lefty Chris Sale.

2009

Batted .306 with six homers and 32 RBI in 68 games for Double-A Chattanooga...Placed on minor league disabled list on May 21 with a broken right wrist...returned July 21 and hit .312 (44-for-141) with two homers and 21 RBI in 41 games through the end of the season...Selected to Southern League All-Star Game after batting .316 (37-for-117) with four homers and 17 RBI in 27 games before the All-Star break, but did not play in the game due to injury...Hit .391 (27-for-69) with five homers and 13 RBI off left-handed pitching...Batted .378 (37-for-98) with five homers and 22 RBI in 30 home games at AT&T Field...Played in the Arizona Fall League for the second consecutive season, hitting .325 with two homers and 12 RBI in 12 games for the Peoria Javelinas...selected to Arizona Fall League's West Division Rising Stars Team

After making the jump from outfielder to catcher, batted .256 with 25 homers and 89 RBI...led Single-A Inland Empire in homers, RBI, and at-bats (507), all of which were career highs...his 25 homers ranked third in the California League...named Dodger Player of the Month in April when he batted .333 (34-for-102) with eight homers, 31 RBI, 21 runs scored, six doubles, two triples and a slugging percentage of .667 in 25 games for the 66ers...hit homers in three straight games, including a grand slam, from April 6-8...drove in nine runs and scored nine times in the three games...his 10th-inning walk-off three-run blast on April 29 sealed a come-from-behind victory for the 66ers over the Modesto Nuts...drove in five runs in the game...enjoyed a 13-game hitting streak (April 14-27) and hit .370 (20-for-54) over that span...collected a hit in 20 of his 25 games played in April...on April 14, collected his first and only multi-homer game of the season, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and three runs scored...named to the California League All-Star team...went 1-for-4 with two runs scored in the California-Carolina League All-Star game held on June 19 at Stockton, CA...had his highest monthly home run total (10) in July...caught 78 games for the 66ers...batted .299 (60-for-201) with 10 home runs and 44 RBI as a designated hitter in 49 games.
