Lee Matthew Gronkiewicz... Single... Attended the University of South Carolina... In 2001, was selected to the All-SEC team and was a First team All-American after leading the country in saves (16) and posting a 1.42 ERA in 32 games (50.2IP)... Was joined on the All-American First team by the likes of Mark Prior (Southern California), Chris Burke (Tennessee), Kirk Saarloos (Fullerton) and John-Ford Griffin (Florida St.)... Makes his offseason home in Justin, Texas.

Made his Major League debut June 19 vs. LAD...Tossed four innings in relief allowing only two hits and one run in four innings...The four innings were a season high by a Jays reliever...First MLstrikeout came against Jeff Kent...MINORS: Began the season at New Hampshire (AA) recording 11 saves in 12 opportunities...Struck out 1.23 batters per innings...Upon his return from Toronto was optioned to Syracuse (AAA)...Held batters to a .217 average in Syracuse, striking out 1.03 batters per inning... Posted two saves in his two opportunities...Made the only start of his career in the second game of a double-header August 23 vs. Ottawa.

Was his first in the Blue Jays organization... Split time between New Hampshire of the Eastern League (AA) and Syracuse of the International League (AAA)... Pitched to a combined record of 2-1 with 30 saves and a 1.75 ERA in 66 games... In 66.2IP he struck out 71 batters while walking 23... With New Hampshire, he went 2-0 with a 1.41 ERA in 38 games... He finished 3rd in the Eastern League with 24 saves... Was selected to the Eastern League's Midseason All-Star team... Was a Blue Jays Minor League Star of the Month in May after recording 10 saves and 1.26 ERA in 14 appearances... In June, was named the Blue jays Organizational Pitcher of the Month after collecting eight saves with a 0.00 ERA in 11.0IP of work... April 9 vs. New Britain, collected the win in his New Hampshire debut (1.1IP, H, 2K)... July 14 was promoted to Syracuse... Made his Syracuse debut on July 15 vs. Norfolk and got the save in Game 2 of a doubleheader... Remained in Syracuse for the remainder of the season... For the SkyChiefs, he went 0-1 with six saves and 2.22 ERA in 28 games... Recorded 12 games finished... Held opposing hitters to a .206 batting average... Had to work more than 1.0IP for five of his six saves in AAA.
