Started the season in Class A Frederick and advanced to major leagues in September, becoming fourth member of the Hairston family and third generation member to reach the majors, joining the Boones (Ray, Bob & Bret/Aaron) and the Bells (Gus, Buddy & David) as the only three generation families in Major League history...Was promoted from Frederick to AA Bowie in July...Overall, he combined at Frederick and Bowie to hit .302 (155-514) with 34 doubles, six triples, ten home runs, 98 runs, and 70 RBI in 135 games...Hit safely in his first 16 games and 21 of his first 22 games at Bowie...Played 54 games at second base for Bowie and one game at third, committing just five errors...At Frederick he played 65 games at shortstop and 14 games at second base, making just 24 errors...Orioles purchased his contract from Bowie on 9/11...That night he made his Major League debut with a start at second base...Received honorable mention at second base for Howe Sportsdata's All-Prospect Team...Following the season he played in the Arizona Fall League for the Grand Canyon Rafters.
