2005

Spent the entire regular season with Triple-A Toledo and was promoted to Detroit on September 16 after the Mud Hens won the International League Championship...made three relief appearances with the Tigers and posted a 5.40 ERA and .286 opponents batting average...made his Detroit debut on September 19 at Kansas City (0.1 ip, 2 h, 1 r, 1 er)...that was his first appearance in the Majors since May 5, 2001 at Atlanta...was 7-2 with 23 saves and a 2.13 ERA in 63 relief appearances with Toledo...finished third in the International League in appearances and tied for third in saves...his appearances tied for sixth most in all of Minor League Baseball...the saves and games pitched were a professional best...converted 23 of his 26 (88.5%) save opportunities and allowed just 2 of 21 (9.5%) inherited runners to score...yielded just one home run in 67.2 innings...allowed a .261 opponents batting average which broke down to .245 (38 for 155) against right-handers and .287 (27 for 94) against left-handers...the average dropped to .220 (13 for 59) with runners in scoring position...was 5-1 with 14 saves, a 1.00 ERA (4 er in 36.0 ip) and .228 (28 for 123) opponents batting average in 33 outings at home compared to 2-1 with nine saves, a 3.41 ERA (12 er in 31.2 ip) and a .294 (37 for 126) opponents batting average in 30 outings on the road...posted a 1.13 ERA (5 er in 39.2 ip) in the ninth inning and 3.54 (11 er in 28.0 ip) in all other innings...tossed one or more innings in 50 of his 63 outings, including two or more six times...season high was 2.2 scoreless innings in a win on July 18 against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre...opened the season with 13 consecutive scoreless outings from April 7 to May 8...went 2-0 with four saves over that stretch which spanned 13.2 innings...recorded a save in six of seven outings from May 14 to 28 and did not allow an earned run over the 5.2 inning stretch...was named the Tigers Minor League Pitcher of the Month for July after going 4-0 with a 1.76 ERA (3 er in 15.1 ip) and three saves in 11 appearances...followed that up by posting a 1.26 ERA (2 er in 14.1 ip) and seven saves in 14 appearances in August...was 0-1 with four saves and a 2.84 ERA in six postseason appearances for Toledo (6.1 ip, 7 h, 2 r, 2 er, 1 bb, 3 so)...pitched for Hermosillo in the Mexican Winter League following the season and was 0-0 with eight saves and a 1.80 ERA in 18 games, all in relief.

Signed with the Detroit organization on January 12 and played for both Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo...was a combined 5-2 with eight saves and a 3.58 ERA in 55 appearances...allowed a .220 (55 for 250) opponents batting average...started the year at Erie where he had no decisions, six saves and a 2.70 ERA in nine relief appearances...recorded the save in four consecutive outings from April 15 to 23 (5.0 ip, 3 h, 1 bb, 5 so)...was promoted to Toledo on May 6 and was 5-2 with a 3.74 ERA and two saves in 46 appearances for the Mud Hens...compiled a 6.38 ERA in 19 outings in May and June and a 1.72 ERA in 27 outings after that...pitched for Aragua in the Venezuelan Winter League following the season and was 2-0 with a 0.69 ERA (2 er in 26.0 ip) in 22 games.

2003

Pitched for Double-A West Tenn and Triple-A Iowa in the Chicago Cubs organization and was a combined 3-6 with 14 saves and a 3.74 ERA in 58 relief appearances...ranked fourth among all Cubs minor leaguers with 14 saves...allowed a .286 opponents batting average including .326 (31 for 95) against left-handed hitters and .263 (45 for 171) against right-handers...opponents average jumped to .309 (21 for 68) with runners in scoring position...began the season at West Tenn and did not allow a run in his first 12 outings (13.1 ip)...had five saves and a 3.60 ERA in 14 outings when he was promoted to Iowa on May 6...went 0-1 with a save and a 4.74 ERA in 13 appearances before he was transferred back to West Tenn on June 6...went 3-5 with eight saves and a 3.24 ERA over his final 31 appearances with the Diamond Jaxx...was 3-5 with 13 saves and a 3.35 ERA in 45 games overall with West Tenn...led the club in saves.

2002

With the exception of one relief appearance at Triple-A Memphis on May 7 (1.0 ip, 1 h), he spent the entire season at Double-A New Haven...was 3-4 with four saves and a 3.60 ERA in 58 relief appearances for the Ravens...tied for the Eastern League lead in appearances...allowed a .265 opponents batting average including .253 against left-handers and .271 against ight-handers...posted a 1.42 ERA in 11 appearances in April...made one postseason appearance for New Haven (0.1 ip)...was sent to the Chicago Cubs organization on September 24 as one of two players to be named later (also Jared Blasdell), completing a trade which sent Jeff Fassero to the Cardinals on August 25.

2001

Started the season at Triple-A Memphis in his first season pitching exclusively in relief...had a 0.79 ERA in seven appearances when he was recalled by St. Louis on April 18...made his Major League debut on April 20 at Houston (1.0 ip, 2 h, 1 r, 1 er, 1 bb, 1 so)...did not allow a run in his next three outings (4.0 ip) and posted a 1.80 ERA in four games before he was optioned back to Memphis on May 7...finished the season with the Redbirds and was 4-4 with three saves and a 4.28 ERA in a team leading 55 appearances...allowed a .284 opponents batting average including .241 against left-handers and .309 against right-handers...had a 2.79 ERA at home and 6.25 on the road...all three of his saves came over a five-game span from June 28 to July 8.

2000

In his fourth professional season, had two stints each at Double-A Arkansas and Triple-A Memphis...was a combined 7-7 with a 3.93 ERA...ranked eighth among Cardinals minor leaguers in ERA...went 2-3 with a 3.75 ERA in eight starts at Arkansas...was 5-4 with a 4.04 ERA in 16 games, 13 starts, with Memphis...began the year at Arkansas and made five starts before a May 1 promotion to Memphis...went 3-0 in six games, four starts, in May...was on the Memphis Disabled List from June 13 to July 16 with right shoulder discomfort...returned to Arkansas on August 1 and was sent back to Memphis on August 20...made three starts for Memphis in the postseason...was 0-1 with a 5.56 ERA in two PCL Playoff Starts and 0-0 with a 1.29 ERA in one Triple-A World Series start...competed for Scottsdale in the Arizona Fall League.

1999

Made 26 starts for Double-A Arkansas and was 7-11 with a 5.22 ERA...tied for second in the Texas League with two complete games and his 160.1 innings pitched tied for fifth...had career highs in losses, starts, innings pitched and strikeouts (71)...first complete game came on May 1 in the first game of a doubleheader when he allowed two runs, one earned, in a 2-1 loss to Tulsa...second complete game was a nine-inning victory over Shreveport on June 4...struck out a season high six batters four times.

1998

Spent the entire season with Single-A Prince William...was 8-1 in 16 games, 15 starts, and led the Cardinals farm system with a 1.67 ERA...ranked third among Carolina League starters by allowing just 1.01 walks per nine innings and was fifth with a .222 opponents batting average...earned Carolina League Pitcher of the Week honors for the week of June 18 to 24 as he tossed a two-hitter on June 19 against Kinston...tossed a four-hit, 2-0 shutout against Danville on July 27 (0 bb, 2 so).

1997

Opened his professional career at New Jersey (Rookie) and went 4-1 with a 1.86 ERA in seven starts...held the opposition to a .229 batting average...was transferred to Peoria on July 23 and finished the season there, going 0-3 with a 6.65 ERA in four starts.
