2023

28-year-old J.P. Martinez completed his first Major League season with the Texas Rangers, posting a slash line of .225/.250/.325 (9-for-40) in 17 games...He hit one home run and one double, while recording four RBI and seven runs...Started nine of Texas' games during the regular season, making four starts in left field, three in right field and two in center field...Appeared four times as a pinch-hitter (1-for-4), three times as a pinch-runner and once as a defensive replacement...Was not included on the club's postseason roster...Made his MLB debut, batting sixth and playing left field, Aug. 11 at San Francisco...Went 0-for-3 with a walk...The following day, Aug. 12 at San Francisco, collected his first career hit (single) off RHP Alex Cobb, before scoring his first run...Recorded his first RBI in his next at-bat (sacrifice fly)...Went 2-for-4 in the contest...After reaching via walk his MLB debut, reeled off a five-game hitting streak, spanning Aug. 12-16.. In 2022, slashed .243/.360/.433 (96-for-395) in 107 games - 66 with Double-A Frisco and 41 with Triple-A Round Rock...He hit 15 home runs, 14 doubles and eight triples, while recording 45 RBI and 73 runs...Went 39-for-48 in stolen base attempts...Among Texas farmhands, ranked second in triples; third in walks (67); sixth in stolen bases.

2021

Spent the entire 2021 season with Double-A Frisco; his first action above the High-A level... Slashed .242/.355/.368 (69-for-285) in 81 games...He hit five home runs, 13 doubles and four triples, while recording 28 RBI and 45 runs...Went 20-for-20 on stolen base attempts...Hit .338 (22-for-65) in the month of June...Hit his first career MiLB grand slam on June 11 vs. Northwest Arkansas.
