Opened the season with Triple-A Norfolk after being optioned during Spring Training on 3/27. Recalled on 4/5 and made his MLB debut that day. Optioned to Norfolk 5/27. Recalled on 7/17 for the remainder of the season...Went 7-4 with a 4.35 ERA (59 ER/122.0 IP), 121 hits (16 HR), 62 total runs, 42 walks, two hit batters and 129 strikeouts in 23 games (all starts) in his rookie season. Recorded seven quality starts...His 9.52 K/9 was the best by a rookie in team history (min. 100.0 IP). His 129 strikeouts were sixth-most by an O’s rookie.
