Graham H. Godfrey was originally signed by Toronto scout Marc Tramuta...attended the College of Charleston...went 8-2 with a 3.57 ERA in 16 games, 15 starts, in 2006...struck out 101 in 98.1 innings.
2011
Made his Major League debut in 2011 and was 1-2 with a 3.96 ERA in five games, four starts, over three stints with the A's...walked just five batters in 25.0 innings (1.80 walks per nine innings)...allowed a .305 batting average, which included a .267 (16 for 60) mark against left-handed hitters and .356 (16 for 45) against right-handers...allowed seven of his 10 extra-base hits to righties for a .600 slugging percentage...yielded a .457 slugging percentage overall...opponents hit .353 with the bases empty, .259 with runners on...allowed a .222 average with runners in scoring position...had a .381 opponents average and all three of his home runs the first time through the lineup, .254 after that...held the first three hitters in the batting order to a .176 batting average but allowed a .474 average to the opponents four, five and six hitters...opponents were 13-for-25 (.520) with a walk when leading off an inning...was 1-2 with a 4.71 ERA in his four starting assignments...tossed 4.0 scoreless innings in his only relief appearance... the A's were 2-2 in his starting assignments...tossed six or more innings in one of his starts, allowed two runs or fewer once and walked two batters or fewer all four times...made four starts for Escogido in the Dominican Winter League following the season and was 1-0 with a 3.31 ERA
OAKLAND: Was selected from Triple-A Sacramento June 10 and made his Major League debut with a start that day at Chicago (AL)...allowed five runs on nine hits in 4.1 innings but had a no decision in the A's 7-5 win...the hits were the most by an A's pitcher in his debut since April 10, 1983 when Bill Krueger yielded nine at California...was the 42nd pitcher in Oakland history to start in his debut...struck out Gordon Beckham in the first inning for his first big league strikeout...was credited with his first ML win in his second start June 17 against San Francisco, outdueling two-time Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum...allowed two runs on six hits in a career-high 7.0 innings...then took the loss June 23 at New York (NL)...was moved to the bullpen after going 1-1 with a 4.24 ERA in three starts but did not pitch again before he was optioned to Sacramento July 7...returned to start the second game of the doubleheader Aug. 27 at Boston and allowed three runs on six hits in 4.0 innings for the loss...was sent back to Sacramento Aug. 29, then returned to Oakland Sept. 17 when the River Cats season ended...made just one more appearance with the A's and it came in relief of Rich Harden Sept. 20 against Texas...tossed 4.0 scoreless innings, matching the longest outing by an A's reliever in 2011.
MINORS: Began the season at Double-A Midland and made one start, a no decision in a 10-2 win over Arkansas April 7...allowed two unearned runs in 4.0 innings and struck out six...was promoted to Sacramento April 12 and went 14-3 with a 2.68 ERA in 19 games, 18 starts with the River Cats...led the Pacific Coast League and tied for fifth in all of minor league baseball in wins...did not have enough innings pitched to qualify for the league leaders, but his ERA would have been second best in the PCL...combined for a 2.59 ERA with Sacramento and Midland, which was the lowest ERA in the A's farm system...also led the A's farm system in wins (14)...his wins were a career-high and his ERA was the lowest of his career...was named the A's Organizational Pitcher of the Year and was also named to the Baseball America Triple-A All-Star Team...led Sacramento in wins and ranked second in strikeouts (89)...allowed just six home runs in 107.1 innings, an average of 0.50 per nine innings...allowed a .227 opponents batting average, which included a .223 (43 for 193) mark against left-handed hitters and .230 (49 for 213) against right-handers...held the opposition to a .198 batting average when leading off an inning and .146 with runners in scoring position and two outs...four of the six home runs he allowed were solo shots...the River Cats were 13-5 (.722) in his starting assignments...tossed six or more innings in 11 of his 18 starts, allowed two runs or fewer 13 times and walked two batters or fewer 15 times...had a no decision in his first start with Sacramento April 12 but then won each of his next four starts from April 17 to May 5...had a 1.82 ERA and .186 opponents batting average over that stretch...was placed on the disabled list May 6 with a sprained right wrist...was reinstated May 19 and lost that day against Oklahoma City...won each of his next three starts and was 7-1 with a 2.50 ERA in nine starts when he was promoted to Oakland June 10...optioned back to Sacramento July 7 and made his only relief appearance with the River Cats July 8 at Las Vegas...tossed 4.0 scoreless and hitless innings for the win... allowed a season-high nine hits in 5.0 innings in a 4-3 loss to Salt Lake July 20...tossed a season-high tying 7.0 innings and struck out a season-high eight in back-to-back wins July 25 against Reno and July 31 against Colorado Springs...allowed a season-high six runs on a season-high tying three walks in a 7-6 loss at Iowa Aug. 10...promoted to Oakland again Aug. 27 but was back at Sacramento for a final regular season start Sept. 1 against Las Vegas...allowed one run in 6.0 innings for his 14th win...then went 0-1 with a 5.73 ERA and .340 opponents batting average in two postseason starts (11.0 ip, 16 h, 7 r, 7 er, 5 bb, 4 so, 2 hr).
2010
Spent most of the season with Triple-A Sacramento although he did make five appearances with Double-A Midland in August...combined for a 4-8 record and a 5.33 ERA in 29 games, 20 starts... struck out 103 batters, which ranked 10th in the A's farm system...also walked a career-high 62 in 125.0 innings, an average of 4.46 per nine innings...allowed a .271 opponents batting average, which included a .251 mark against right-handed hitters and .294 against left-handers...was 3-7 with a 4.72 ERA in his 20 starting assignments and 1-1 with a 8.18 ERA in nine relief appearances...allowed 4 of 8 (50.0%) inherited runners to score...opponents were 8-for-16 (.500) with two grand slams and 21 RBI with the bases loaded...began the season at Sacramento and went 4-7 with a 5.59 ERA in 24 games, 16 starts, with the River Cats...struck out a season-high nine batters in 5.1 innings of relief against Reno April 19...went 2-3 with a 2.76 ERA in six starts in May...that was his only month under 5.00 with Sacramento... 16 of his first 17 appearances were starts...was moved to the bullpen July 10 and was 4-7 with a 5.12 ERA in 21 games, 16 starts, when he was transferred to Midland Aug. 1...allowed three runs on a hit and four walks in 2.0 innings of relief Aug. 5 at Frisco before being sent back to Sacramento Aug. 8...made two relief appearances with the River Cats, allowing eight runs on 12 hits and four walks in 4.1 innings (16.62 ERA)...was sent back to Midland Aug. 12 and went 0-1 with a 3.24 ERA in four starting assignments...matched his season-high with nine strikeouts in his final regular season start Sept. 1 at San Antonio, tossing 6.0 shutout innings...then made two postseason starts for the RockHounds and was 0-1 with a 3.27 ERA (11.0 ip, 12 h, 4 r, 4 er, 3 bb, 5 so, 2 hr)... was 3-3 with a 1.93 ERA in 11 starts for San Juan in the Puerto Rican Winter League...tied for the league lead in games started, ranked second in ERA and innings pitched (56.0) and fourth in fewest walks per nine innings (2.09)...allowed just one home run in 56.0 innings.
2009
Spent the entire season in the starting rotation at Double-A Midland, going 11-8 with a 3.50 ERA in 28 starts...allowed just eight home runs in 159.1 innings, an average of 0.45 per nine innings...was named to the Texas League Postseason All-Star Team...led the league in innings pitched, tied for the lead in games started, tied for third in wins, ranked fifth in stikeouts (110) and was seventh in ERA...had career-highs in games started and innings pitched and matched his high in losses...also tossed his only professional complete game...led the A's farm system in innings pitched, ranked fourth in wins, fifth in ERA and eighth in strikeouts...topped Midland in wins, starts, innings pitched and strikeouts...allowed a .248 opponents batting average, which included a .229 mark against right-handed hitters and .268 against lefties...surrendered all eight of his home runs to righties...went 7-2 with a 2.42 ERA over a 12-start stretch from April 26 to June 22...struck out a season-high 11 May 27 at Northwest Arkansas... tossed his only complete game June 1 at Tulsa but allowed four runs on six hits in 8.0 innings in a 4-1 loss...named to the TL Midseason All-Star team...went 1-0 with a 3.55 ERA in two postseason starts to help the RockHounds to the Texas League Championship.

Pitched primarily for Single-A Stockton in his first season in the Oakland organization, posting a 5-8 record with a 5.10 ERA in 29 games, 24 starts...also had two one-game stints with Sacramento, where he was 0-0 with a 4.05 ERA in two relief appearances (April 14 and June 23)...combined for a career-high 123 strikeouts, which ranked fifth in the A's farm system...also had career highs in losses (8), runs (93), earned runs (79), home runs (15) and hit batters (14)...led the California League in hit batters and ranked fifth among starting pitchers in strikeouts per nine innings (7.79)...allowed a .293 opponents batting average with the Ports, including .249 against right-handed hitters and .338 against left-handers...five of his first six appearances came in relief...each of his final 23 appearances were starts...his first win came May 28 against High Desert when he tossed 8.0 shutout innings and struck out a season-high nine...earned California League Pitcher of the Week honors for his effort...went 2-0 with a 1.38 ERA in two postseason starts for the Cal League Champion Ports.

Was drafted by Toronto in the 34th round of the 2006 Draft but did not sign until Aug. 26, 2006...made his professional debut with Single-A Lansing of the Midwest League and was 6-7 with a 3.98 ERA in 21 starts...allowed a .302 opponents batting average, including .283 against right-handed hitters and .324 against left-handers...picked up his first professional win in his first start May 10 against Quad Cities (6.0 ip, 6 h, 2 r, 2 er, 3 so)...was on the disabled list from May 16-23 with a medial meniscus injury to his left knee.
