Appeared in four rehab games with Double-A San Antonio prior to Aug. 12, when MLB announced his 80-game suspension for testing positive for Clostebol, in violation of MLB's Joint Prevention and Treatment Program...the suspension was announced minutes before the Padres 7 p.m. ET game @ WSH in Juan Soto and Josh Bell's homecoming (both were acquired 10 days prior at the 2022 trade deadline on Aug. 2)....Prior to his suspension, Tatis was working his way back from a left wrist injury and was days away from reporting to the Major League team....The 80-game suspension began on August 12, and after the 48 regular season games to end the season, the Padres' 12 Postseason games counted towards the suspension...the suspension will last 20 more games at the start of 2023, with Tatis being eligible to return to the Major League team on April 20 (the start of a four-game series @ Arizona)....Had left shoulder surgery on Sept. 6, 2022 to repair the labrum in his left shoulder (performed in Los Angeles by Dr. Neal ElAttache)....Also underwent two surgeries on the scaphoid bone in his left wrist...the first was on March 16, and the latest was in Oct. 2022...Tatis was cleared to resume baseball activities in early January of 2023.
