Catherine M. Robertson, MD

Head Team Physician

Dr. Robertson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in treating injuries of the shoulder, knee and hip using minimally invasive techniques for restoring joint function and to treat complex ligament, tendon, cartilage and meniscus injuries.
She completed her residency training at UC San Diego School of Medicine and her fellowship training in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
In 2013, Dr. Robertson was named associate team physician for the San Diego Chargers. She is also team physician for the San Diego Sea Lions women's professional soccer team and UC San Diego Tritons, as well as the lead physician for the partnership between UC San Diego Health and the US Olympic Committee.

Kenneth S. Taylor, MD

Team Physician and Lead Primary Care Physician

Dr. Taylor is a board-certified family medicine doctor who specializes in sports medicine. His expertise includes diagnosing, treating and preventing athletic injuries. Dr. Taylor has a special interest in using musculoskeletal ultrasound to perform diagnostic and therapeutic treatments.
Dr. Taylor completed a fellowship and residency at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where he also earned his medical degree.
He is a co-team physician for the San Diego Sockers and the head team physician for UC San Diego intercollegiate and club athletics. Dr. Taylor also serves as the medical director for the International Surfing Association.

Daniel Slater, MD

Associate Team Physician

Dr. Slater is board-certified in both family medicine and integrative medicine, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP).
He completed a fellowship in integrative medicine at the University of Arizona and a residency in family medicine at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica. He earned his medical degree from UC San Diego School of Medicine.
As a professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health, Dr. Slater trains medical students and residents at UC San Diego School of Medicine.

Amy Leu, DO

Associate Team Physician

Dr. Leu is a board-certified family medicine doctor who specializes in sports medicine. She has expertise in diagnosing, treating and preventing injuries associated with athletics.
She is also an osteopathic physician with experience in manual medicine techniques to treat restrictions in the body that contribute to pain and disease.
Dr. Leu completed her residency training in family medicine at UC Irvine School of Medicine and her fellowship training in primary care sports medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She is a fellow in the American Academy of Family Practice.

Bryan Leek, MD

Associate Team Physician

Dr. Leek is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in caring for sports and upper extremity injuries, including arthroscopy and reconstruction of the knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. He has expertise in treating shoulder injuries, performing arthroscopic and open techniques in repair and reconstruction.
He completed a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at San Diego Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center, and a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Columbia University in New York City. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at UC San Diego School of Medicine.
Dr. Leek serves as a faculty member of the San Diego Shoulder Institute's international course in shoulder arthroscopy, arthroplasty, and fractures.
