Opened the 2011 season with the San Diego Padres after being acquired from the Boston Red Sox in a five-player deal during the off-season -- saw action at second base, in left field, center field and right field with the Padres...Sidelined March 22-April 10 with a left hamstring strain -- saw action in two games with Single A Lake Elsinore during an injury rehabilitation assignment April 7-9...Hit .323 (10x31) over a 14-game stretch with the Padres May 3-21...Had his contract designated for assignment by San Diego on June 9 -- his contract was outrighted by San Diego to Triple A Tucson for the remainder of the season on June 16...Sidelined both July 3-14 and August 11-24 with a right wrist sprain...Batted .324 (23x71) with five doubles, two triples, two home runs and nine RBI in 18 games during August...Released by the Padres organization on December 9.

2010

Split his season between OAK and BOS, also seeing time at Triple-A Pawtucket as part of a rehab assignment...acquired by the Red Sox on 6/26 in exchange for LHP Fabian Williamson...Established career highs in games, at-bats, runs, hits, doubles, triples, home runs, RBI and stolen bases between OAK and BOS...Combined for 47 games (27 starts) in left field, 20 games (10 starts) in center field and 14 games (six starts) at second base...Scored six runs in his first four games after being traded to the Red Sox...Placed on the 15-day disabled list 8/17 (retro to 8/16) with a neck strain and was activated 9/1.

Spent a majority of the season with Triple-A Iowa and batted .297 with 14 homers and 65 RBI in 128 games...was a unanimous selection to the Pacific Coast League's All-Star team and was named the second baseman on the All-PCL team at season's end...had two stints with the Cubs, Aug. 6-14 and Sept. 1-3...appeared in seven games for the big league club...made his Major League debut Aug. 6 in Houston...picked up his first career hit Aug. 7 at Houston off Woody Williams...named to the Topps Triple-A All-Star team following the season...recognized as a Baseball America Triple-A All-Star... recorded a season-high 11-game hit streak May 7-18, batting .447 with three homers and nine RBI... homered in three straight games May 11-13...led the Iowa Cubs in games (128), runs (94), hits (153), triples (6), walks (54), stolen bases (24) and multi-hit games (44)...had a 5 for 6 performance July 24 at Colorado Springs, falling a home run shy of the cycle.

2006

Batted .276 with 10 triples and 46 stolen bases in 138 combined games for Double-A West Tenn and Triple-A Iowa...was named to the Southern League All-Star Game and the United States team in the Futures Game at PNC Park...appeared in 121 games for the Diamond Jaxx before being promoted to Iowa in Aug. where he hit .358 in 17 games for the I-Cubs...hit in 14 of 17 games for the I-Cubs, including his first nine games (15 for 36, .417)...ranked third with nine triples in the Southern League while his 38 stolen bases were second-best in the league behind fellow Diamond Jaxx Chris Walker (50)... named the league's "best hustler" following the season...stole a season-high three bases on three occasions: April 9 at Birmingham, April 21 at Chattanooga and July 2 at Huntsville...played for the Mesa Solar Sox in the Arizona Fall League after the season, batting .345 in 28 games.

2005

Earned the Midwest League batting title in his first professional campaign with a .333 batting average...added 13 homers, 71 RBI and 40 stolen bases in 110 games for Single-A Peoria...was second in the league in slugging percentage (.535), third in both triples (11) and on-base percentage (.405) and fifth in stolen bases...led ML second basemen in fielding (.982)...named to both the Midwest League All-Star team and postseason All-Star team...was awarded the team's Most Valuable Player award as well as the Cubs Minor League Player of the Year...was promoted to Double-A West Tenn and appeared in nine games for the Diamond Jaxx.
