Played first season in the Oakland organization, spending most of the year at Sacramento (AAA)...Was promoted to Oakland on 6/21 and went 1-for-6 with a SB in six games...Got first Major League hit and stolen base as a PH on 6/28 at SD off Clay Hensley...Led River Cats with 93 runs and 142 hits. The runs tied for fourth in the Pacific Coast League...Hit .303 (60-for-198) with 11 HR and 41 RBI in 58 games with the Mayos de Navojoa of the Mexican Pacific Winter League.

Made his Major League debut with San Francisco in 2005, earning a September call-up after a solid Triple-A campaign at Fresno...was recalled on September 14, after originally returning to his Massachusetts home following the minor league season...began off-season work as a high school history teacher before his late call to majors...appeared in eight games for Giants down stretch, going 0 for 5 with walk as pinch hitter, while scoring pair of runs as pinch runner...did not see action in field...made his ML debut on September 14 vs. San Diego, walking in a pinch hitting role...batted .316 with 13 home runs and 59 RBI in 127 games at Fresno...the home runs were a career high as were his 30 doubles...led the Grizzlies in doubles and stolen bases (29) and tied for the team lead in runs (81) and games played (127)...his batting average included a .339 (129 for 380) mark against right-handed pitchers and .217 (20 for 92) against left-handers...however, his average dropped to .242 (30 for 124) with runners in scoring position...hit .337 (82 for 243) on the road compared to .293 (67 for 229) at home...appeared in 95 games in left field, 10 in center field and two in right field...committed two errors in 251 total chances for a .992 fielding percentage...also hit .267 (8 for 30) in eight games at designated hitter...hit in every spot in the order except fourth but saw most of his action in the leadoff spot where he batted .339 (111 for 327) in 74 games...had six straight multiple hit games from April 29 to May 4 (15 for 27, .556)...had a pinch hit grand slam on June 3 against Tucson and his four RBI in that game were a season high...was 4 for 4 with five runs scored and a pair of doubles on June 7 at Las Vegas...also had four-hit games on June 20 against Salt Lake, June 27 at Colorado Springs and August 31 at Sacramento...was named San Francisco Triple-A Player of the Month in June after batting .419 (39 for 93) with three home runs, 19 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 26 games...had a season best 13-game hitting streak from July 21 to August 6 (15 for 49, .306)...batted .307 (27 for 88) with five of his 13 home runs in 23 games in July...played for Navojoa in the Mexican Winter League and batted .324 (66 for 204) with 11 home runs and 42 RBI in 60 games...added 31 walks for a .418 on-base percentage...ranked third in the MWL in batting...was also second in slugging (.564), fourth in on-base percentage and tied for fourth in runs (41), doubles (14) and stolen bases (11).
2004
Produced solid campaign for double-A Norwich, hitting .292 with 82 runs, 23 2Bs, 13 3Bs, 10 HRs, 71 RBI and career-best 33 stolen bases...in fact, was most productive offensive campaign since 2000...finished among Eastern League leaders in hits (2nd - career-high 157), triples (1st), runs (9th) and stolen bases (3rd)...theft total was 2nd among Giant farmhands, trailing only Frederick Lewis (34)...finished 2nd on Navigators for avg., HR and RBI, while pacing club in 2Bs and stolen bases...was selected Norwich's Player of Month for May, sharing honor with Jack Taschner...following season, played for Navojoa in Mexican Winter League.
2003
Began the season at Triple-A Fresno before settling in with Norwich, where he batted .301...was 5 for 21 (.238) with the Grizzlies and finished the year at .297 overall, which was the fifth-highest mark among all Giants farmhands...earned Norwich Player of Month accolades for July...played for Navojoa in the Mexican Winter League following the campaign.
2002
Split campaign between top 2 outposts in SF system, batting combined .266 with 15 2Bs, 2 3Bs, 7 HRs and 32 RBI in 114 games with double-A Shreveport and Fresno...opened season in Texas League for 3rd straight year and hit at .261 clip over 44 outings with Swamp Dragons...promoted to Grizzlies and saw 1st career action at triple-A level, batting .269 with 5 HRs in 70 contests.
2001
Had a solid season at Shreveport, batting .275 with 16 doubles, four triples, six home runs and 51 RBI.
2000
Logged his first full year at the Double-A level and established a career high with 75 RBI...led Shreveport and ranked fifth in the Texas League in triples (7)...shared Captains Player of Month honors for July...was also tabbed Howe SportsData's TL Player of Week for July 10-16...in four TL post season games, he went 2 for 15 (.133) with a RBI.

Spent majority of campaign at single-A Bakersfield before late-season promotion to Shreveport...combined to hit .315 with 73 runs, 20 2Bs, 2 3Bs, career-high 12 HRs and 64 RBI...named California League All-Star, while finishing 7th in circuit with .326 batting avg. for Bakersfield...tabbed Blaze's Player of Month for April after batting .461 (35-for-76) with 19 runs, 3 2Bs, HR and 13 RBI in 21 games...earned Howe SportsData Player of Week honors in Cal League for April 19-25...was promoted to Shreveport in Aug., batting .220 (11-for-50) with HR in 15 regular season contests and .200 (3-for-15) with HR in 4 playoff outings...participated in California Fall League following season, hitting .333 with 3 HRs and 24 RBI for Lake Elsinore.
1998
Opened professional career in style, ranking among Northwest League leaders in avg. (6th - .335), 3Bs (T3rd - 6) and on-base pct. (5th - .422)...paced Salem-Keizer with .335 avg. to accompany 3 HRs and 41 RBI in 59 games.
