Brandon Kyle Boggs...2001 graduate of Pope (GA) High School, where he was a three-year letter winner...named All-Cobb County in 1999, 2000 and 2001 and named to the All-Region Team in 2000 and 2001...played summer ball with the East Cobb Yankees program and was the starting center fielder on the team that won the 1999 AAU World Series...helped East Cobb reach the Connie Mack World Series in 2001... played collegiately at Georgia Tech and hit .305 as a freshman in 2002.

Signed with Pittsburgh as a free agent November 18, 2011 and spent the entire season with Triple-A Indianapolis. ... Hit three home runs in first six games and four in first 11 games April 6-16. ... Hit safely in season-high 10 straight games June 25-July 12. ... Batted .364 (28-for-77) with a .462 on-base percentage and 15 RBI in 24 June games. ... Hit .331 (41-for-124) off left-handed pitching and .228 (65-for-285) off right-handed pitching.

After a late April call-up when Hank Blalock went on the disabled list, Boggs was with the Rangers for the final 5 months of the season in his rookie campaign after having never played above Double-A...led the team with 59 starts in left field...batted .226 with 8 home runs, 17 doubles, and 41 RBI in 101 games...despite sporadic playing time for much of the year, ranked 8th on the team with 101 games played...also ranked among team leaders in triples (T2nd, 4), walks (6th, 44), and RBI (T8th)...averaged 4.32 pitches per plate appearance, most of any Texas batter with at least 300 PA's...had highest percentage of pitches taken among Rangers regulars (61.9%)...his 93 strikeouts was 4th-most on club...ranked among A.L. rookie leaders in walks (4th), triples (T4th), on-base pct. (9th, .333), slugging (10th, .399), and home runs (10th)...his 44 walks was T8th-most by any rookie in Texas history...he is one of just 4 first-year Rangers over the last 21 seasons (beginning 1988) to compile at least 40 walks in a campaign, also Rusty Greer (46 in 1994), Mark Teixeira (44 in 2003), and Ian Kinsler (40 in 2006)...tied with Marlon Byrd and Josh Hamilton for team lead with 7 outfield assists...the 7 outfield assists was 2nd-most among A.L. rookies behind only Cleveland's Ben Francisco (12)...had a .980 (3 E/148 TC) fielding pct. over 79 games/60 starts in the outfield, seeing action at all 3 outfield positions...had team-high 59 starts in left, 5 as DH, and one in right...hit almost the same vs. lefties (.227) and right-handers (.226), and also similar at home (.230) and on the road (.221)...hit .283 (13-46) in close-and-late situations...was 8-for-19 (.421) in 8 games against Kansas City and hit .344 (11-32) in 13 games versus Oakland...held a .308 (4-13) average as a pinch-hitter...was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma on April 29 and batted .385 (15-39) with 2 homers, a triple, 2 doubles, and 8 RBI over his first 11 big league games through May 9...had a .419 OBP and .641 slugging mark in that span...had a .278 (30-108) figure with 19 RBI over first 29 games through June 4...beginning June 5, hit .194 (34-175) in final 72 contests to finish at .226, just 2 multi-hit games in that season-ending span...had career-high 3 RBI on 5 different occasions, but had just a pair of multi-RBI games after end of May...opened career with a 6-game hit streak, T2ndlongest in Texas history, a feat matched by Chris Davis later in the year...was Rangers' starting leftfielder for each of first 16 and 24 of 29 games in May as Marlon Byrd was on the disabled list until late in the month and Milton Bradley was limited to DH duties...Cobb County native and Georgia Tech product hit a 3-run homer on an 0-2 pitch in the 6th inning on June 19 vs. Atlanta to give Texas a 4- 2 lead, this after failing to get down a sac bunt...recorded outfield assist in 9th inning on July 10 vs. LA of Anaheim, nailing Torii Hunter at the plate to cut down potential go-ahead run...played through a sore right shoulder for part of the season, including leaving game on Aug. 18 vs. Detroit due to the ailment, although he would start the next night in left field...after the season, played for Obregon in the Mexican Winter League, batting .175 (14-80) with 2 home runs and 5 RBI in 22 games.
2007
Split the year between Bakersfield (A) and Frisco (AA), batting a combined .262 with 23 home runs, 30 doubles, and 72 RBI in 130 games...had fifth-most homers of any player in Texas organization...opened at Bakersfield, batting .250 in 26 games with the Blaze...hit game-winning homer in top of 10th on May 2 at High Desert in a 4-3 win...was promoted to Frisco on May 5...went on to place second on the RoughRiders in homers (19) and 3rd in RBI (55)...his .893 OPS was third highest in the league...hit a pair of 3-run homers on June 10 vs. Midland (Game 1) and hit a grand slam on June 24 at Corpus Christi...played mostly center field and also saw action in left...played for Mexicali in Mexican Winter League, batting .284 (25-88) with 6 doubles and 4 RBI in 23 games.

Spent the entire season at Bakersfield...ranked third on the team in triples (4) and stolen bases (13)...recorded a season-high 10-game hit streak from July 22-Aug. 2 (.382, 13-34).
2005
Started season at extended spring training before being transferred to Clinton (A) on May 25...spent the remainder of the season with the LumberKings...ranked third on club with 50 walks...appeared in all 4 of Clinton's postseason games, batting .385 (5-13) with 2 doubles, 2 RBI and 2 stolen bases.
2004
Spent first pro season at Spokane (short season A)...recorded first hit in his professional debut, an RBI double July 2 vs. Boise...hit first professional home run on July 10 at Vancouver...was sidelined from Aug. 1-12 with strained rib cage muscle.
